I just took my mother to a Thai restaurant for her birthday. I ordered "Jungle curry" because I thought the name was cool. Wasn't expecting soup, but OK. Was take your breath away, eyes watering, nose running, sweating forehead throat burning hot. Loved it. Will have that again.

It's an awesome Northern Thai dish, so no coconut milk and more like soup yes. Delish!
    • bob65's Photo
Yes, lots of basil, no coconut

The Northern region is mountainous with no beaches (coconuts) and the food is a lot different.

Tacomas are good, but they used to be awesome. Same with T-100s and Land Cruisers and regular Toyota trucks like the old USA version of the Hilux. The Tacoma used to be an affordable, reliable capable off-road truck. Now they're overpriced, high tech rustbucket showboats. IMO

Happy Australia Day to all (Jan 26th). You don't have to be an Aussie to enjoy it. Just fill an esky with coldies, chuck some snags on the barby and say G'day to your neighbor.

Finn and Rupert Stinson. Aussies. They were stinkin' fish bums like me. They have been gone a long time. Knowing them was one of the highlights of my life. Stinkin' Aussies.

Only poisonous during mating season, stay away from the horny ones. Lol
    • bob65's Photo
Lol. You only have to stay away from the horny male ones, so there is a 50/50 chance. BTW there are no platypuses where I am going, but there are plenty of other things that will give you a touch up.

Only three types of snakes scare me.

      Big snakes
      Little snakes
      Sticks that look like snakes

Don't you hate it when you go to the noodle bar and ask for extra hot, and it is not?

    • Shorerider's Photo
I have given up trying. I usually order double hot "Volcano" and it never is hot enough.

If we combine the "guns" thread with the "cooking with fire" thread and the "pets" thread we could end up with a "what are you cooking post apocalypse" thread

Guns. Cooking with Fire. Pets. Well then...get the party started! Like my dream joint. Combination Sports bar, strip joint, and gun range all under one roof. Only with dogs. "mmmm hot wings! Fetch me that stack of dollar bills! BLAM! POW!"

I'd cook the humans first, personally. Apparently they go great in a nice diavolo sauce.

Why do they call it a "hot water heater" if they are actually heating cold water?

    • WarrantMan's Photo
I equate "hot water heater" with the oft used non-existent word "irregardless"
    • salsalady's Photo
We should start a movement to get the wording changed to "cold water heater". Bobby65, you are the chairman of the next epic social media mooovement! Ready, Set....GO!!!!
    • bob65's Photo
lol. I will start with a gofundme campaign. Today, cold water heaters, tomorrow, world domination.

Drop bears are not a problem. They taste very similar to platypus.

I am only kind of new to growing peppers, I bought some plants for S&G, I used to like chilli but now I love them. I put them into almost everything I cook. Is this a sickness?

In good company. I haven't put reapers on my breakfast cereal yet but I sometimes wonder how long it will be.
