  • Got a culinary torch for an xmas gift. Decided over the weekend to have fun and flame roast some superhots with it to see how well it worked. The burning in my lungs has finally started to fade. Never again.

Yep, I brushed up against a hornet's nest once when I was mowing the grass and got a little too close to a shrub with the nest hiding in there.
RIP Robin Williams. Can't believe he's actually gone.

For the longest nothing was ripe now fataliis, red brains, peach bhuts, mustard habs, and a ton of beautifully corking red jalapenos at once!
Spark plugs that came in the 06-08 Mustang GTs suck... 2 piece design resulted in high chance of breaking in two with a piece left behind in the head... thanks to that, a $240 labor fee involved getting mine replaced today

Spark plugs aside, my car has been the best performing and most reliable I've ever had. 108,000 and never a single service call required other than regular maintenance.

Lol... With today's cart being so full we had a "management" lady rush to us at the register to offer a membership upgrade. That's when you know you've spent too much!

$400 to replace a friggin' piece of plastic in my water softener by the con... err... Culligan man! Next time it breaks I'm just buying a standard one from Home Depot. They cost less than that cost to repair!

$600 will get you a costco water softener installed and they would probably give you a $250 cash card.

What a huge waste of money.
    I would be fuming.

Well, they did screw up their paperwork which changed my unit from a rental to owned, so I'm still in the black. I tried to get it fixed and they didn't believe me, so I got a $1000+ unit for about $300. That's the only reason I didn't go completely insane.
Weather.com said the "feels like" weather here today was 109°F. 109! Boy I'm looking forward to the insane temps of July and August!

Made sense all of a sudden why I couldn't breathe and felt like I was dying while running! It's insane what the humidity and higher temps can do to make the air so heavy and hard to breathe.

115 is a big step up. Hope it doesn't actually get that bad.

We've had the index get to the 130s here from time to time... with the humidity in the gulf region it is a whole different beast to the dry air of places like Arizona and New Mexico. Definitely hoping to avoid that!
Water softener broke... first shower with regular water... how is it legal to provide water this hard to homes!?

Hey, at least you'll save money on calcium supplements. What with that nice, hard chalk exoskeleton you'll develop after a few more rinses.

afik calcium isnt even a secondary contaminate. be thankful you dont have truely bad water lol. i did work for a water plant with radium MCL's marginally higher than legally allowed it was a nightmare.

That's Texas water for ya'. Fortunately I'm on well water and it soft and sweet. Not like that chemical laden crap they have over in Frisco. A lot of restaurants won't even make ice with it as it has such a nice bouquet of chorine.
If super hot peppers get you high, snorting the pepper powder must get you really high. Straight to the head!

Some dumbass at school did that a few weeks ago. It was beautiful. Where all putting powder on food, and he takes some. The next second he screams, holding his nose, everyone starts calling him a "ducking fumbass" and he can't breathe through that nostril for three hours after the nosebleed stopped.
