Alder Smoked Peppers???? Anyone wanna try?

I'm thinking about smoking some more salmon, a friend of mine is moving and gave me a bunch from his freezer. I was also thinking of throwing on a bunch of peppers too. Has anyone ever smoked any peppers with alder? I have a few habaneros, jalapenos, and Thai's that I could cold smoke. I loved the way that habeneros tasted after I smoked them with mesquite, just not sure about the alder. Has anyone even heard of this?

Also, I am new here and would like to get in with the very friendly giving on this site. Would anyone like some if I do it?
 
Mate send some to Texas Blues, the man lives for smoked salmon. I love it to but there aint a chance in a million that customs would let it through!

Never smoked myself (well tell a lie) so cant help with the actual process, good luck!

6 weeks out of the year doing bear and fishing tours for them and he built his own salmon smokehouse and canning machine there and brings about 100 cans of smoked salmon each time he comes back here. Stuff is heavenly!

Haha!! I actually recognise that place! I flew over it a bunch of times when we would go looking for glass balls when we get deployed to Cold Bay!!! And yeah, the real smoked salmon is way better that the commercial stuff you get in stores and mail order. The real stuff has tons more flavor.
