How to reduce 'pepper belly' stomach/gut ache?

Hi all!

I loooove hot peppers, concentrates, and the like. I have some really hot concentrates that i eat that are delicious and firey but can leave my gut a bit, well, feeling 'not quite right'. Not a stomach ache, but a bit deeper. You know where! I can tolerate this just fine really, but i'm concerned that people i cook for may be a little worse for wear. The butt-burn 16hrs later is a given, yea :P but i mean more of the sick-in-the-gut feeling you get sometimes.

Are there any foods that can be eaten with hot foods that will help ease the internal sting from chilli dishes?

Bump on Millworkman -- have something in your belly -- Ive done that with jerky soaked in the Source and I thought I was going to buckle over

I think it depends most on what you are used to.It takes a lot to burn my gut anymore, but what doesn't bother me, would likely cause stomach pains in 97% of the rest of humanity.

I truly think it doesn't matter much what you eat. I have generally lived by the "have a full stomach rule", but I still get it depending on what I am eating. Certain peppers such as 7 Pot, Nagas, and Scorpions, as well as most extracts will give me the rumble down below no matter what. Just warn the people you are sharing these things with that it is a side effect. Think of it like this, if you have a party and break out a 7mm magnum for a little target practice with your friends, good chance most or all of you will end up with a bruise on your shoulder from the recoil...

I go by the rule of having something bland liek an hr ahead of time.

Ya don't want full, nor empty. Greasy food is bad too.

I find rice & beans or cheesy garlic bread or somethng is good.

IMO, if your body is working properly, ya shouldnt have too many issues.

Extracts give me the worst trouble, so I don't eat 'em anymore. I can have stuff like Nova's 666 sauce and barely notice afterwards/nextday. Ok, the NagaMoonshine messed me up good..but d'oh... ;)

are you talking about like your intestines or just your stomach ?
when I over do it (thinking not a big deal) until middle of sleep I wake up & my guts are in pain, I start chewing tums like they're candy & drinking glasses of milk & hope they get there fast!
serious gut pain is the worst! the rest I can deal with.
chiles taste so good, sometimes you just gotta take the bad with the good.

as for the full stomach rule, that dont work for me cuz if my stomach is full then I dont plan on eating more food. so the heat comes with my meals at the same time.

I can vouch for that, they kick!!

When your playing with super hots (like I enjoy alot) either have something in your tummy 1st or suffer the results. Though after eating hot alot, you kinda get used to it

Anyone taking it alone on an empty stomach deserves the gut rot if they go empty bellied and get it. One of those self correcting things
