Hello from Chico, CA...
Can anyone tell me what variety the Big Crinkle is? I picked up a start at the market the 3 weeks ago and it has already thrown down a few nuggets. The guy said it was similar to a sweet anaheim... Not even close, I think I picked a few a little prematurely, but WOW...they are hot and lasting...any help would be sweet.

Never heard of it, and some people love to make up names for unidentified peppers.

It may be right though, I am too lazy to google it.

Agree with cheezy...made up name...just like the Diablo Negro I bought two years ago that was advertised as worlds hottest pepper on ebay...live and learn...had no heat but the plant and peppers were pretty...

:note - I don't grow peppers with no heat on purpose anymore:
 
Really it doesn't matter. There is a wealth of info here on tons of great peppers. Enjoy the crinkle, but try something more interesting next year!
