Los Dos Molinos

The Hot Pepper

This is an Arizona chain (3 in AZ) with spicy food and hot sauce from NM hatch chiles, with one out-of-state location, in NYC. Wondering if anyone has tried it, AZ, or NYC. Reviews sound great. I'll post back after I've tried it.

Where in the city is it? My best friend lives in the theatre district, and next time i'm up there i'd like to check it out.

I'll be trying it soon.

Okay, I ate here. Good margaritas, decent food. I like ala carte, I'm not a big fan of rice and beans, so I got a relleno with hatch chili sauce, and a chicken taco. Decent. Not great, just decent. Their sauces were great, however. Good chips and salsa, and nice green hatch chili salsa on the relleno. The relleno itself tasted eggy, and was uninspired. I'd actually go back to try something different. Salsa and margaritas are worth the trip.

Molinos is rim country transplant to the valley. The were in the original group to try to imitate the places you find in the more "gabacho" areas of mexico. They have a pretty loyal following. can't say I was impressed. It's hard to differentiate them from the 14 other places just like this around here.

I am however, very suprised to find out they have a location in nYC.

I'll add it to the short list and try to go there again and re-evaluate.

Went back... have to say this place is great. First time around I said it was just decent, but I have changed my mind. The hatch chili salsa is awesome! Super hot! And they use it in a lot of their dishes. I got the red chili (hatch salsa) burrito with shredded beef. Delish! Margaritas are awesome too. Unique flavors, like prickly pear (cactus) and tamarind, in huge glasses! Food that burns and makes you sweat... you really don't find that these days.

THP...I can get those burritos here on just about every street corner. They are awesome. I just had to get used to being asked, "Red or green?" when placing my order.

Did you go? It's July. Not sure if you meant this restaurant or NM.

It was supposed to be that particular restaurant. My best friend lives across from the Wintergarden theatre, so i was going to just stroll down to the restaurant to check it out.

Then i had a financial run-in with the IRS....so no NYC for me this f**kin year.
