This is a no frills BBQ joint. Nothing fancy here. You walk in, order, and they call your name to get your food.

I was working a show and my wife called to meet her and her mother for lunch. They decided to try something new. I'm really glad they decided on this place!

First of all, the menu is pretty extensive. Not just ribs and brisket. There's chicken, catfish, hot-links, sausage..you name it, they probably have it.

Since my mother-in-law and wife had been in the restaruant biz for awhile, when they try someplace new, they order damn near everything. We had, pulled pork, brisket, catfish, and beef ribs (they were out of baby backs...)

All I have to say is WOW! This place has it nailed. Nice smokey flavor on all of the meat, and the sauce is sweet, smokey, and spicy. It's not all that hot, but they serve a generic Tabasco style sauce on every table to kick up the heat a tad. I was a little dissapointed in the pulled pork (a little vinegary for some unknown reason) and the hot-link (more like a spicy hot dog). But the beef ribs were sheer perfection. I could almost shake the meat off the bone, but I'd have de-membraned them. The brisket was done Texas style and I don't think I've ever had better in a restaurant.

For everyone comming here to ABQ for the Firey Foods Show, you gotta make the short trip here for a bite to eat...even if you have to come a day early.
