"Tears of Joy" Hot Sauce shop? Austin Texas

Ok, so finally two months later a friend and I make it down to Tears of Joy hot sauce shop. Had a good time looking and tasting sauces. We met Joy who is the mother of the shop owner Brian who I also met briefly. They were very nice folks and will certainly be back. We left with a handful of sauces and a t-shirt. Here are some photos.

I hit this joint up yesterday.

I picked up the following...

Last jar they had of DEFCON Happy Horse

1 bottle o Tears of Joy Augus in Austin Habanero Sauce

3 bottles of The Cheech Mojo Mango Habanero Hot Sauce

The Cheech has little to no heat at all. I've been trying for years to copy it but with some real heat.

Prices weren't bad at all. I paid $6.95 a bottle for the Cheech which is still cheaper than buying on line after shipping.

The only knock I would give them is lack of selection for the size of the shop but they had what I went into the joint looking for.

I would rather give my $$ and support local joints like TOJ. Its a nice little shop right in downtown Austin.

that;'s one hell of a selection!

I may have to get in touch with this place (and a few others) to see about getting on their shelves.
:woohoo:

The "Gnarly Garlic" I presume? (the mucho mango and chipotle are boring) - I LOVE the flavor of this sauce - has no balls though.

I recommended it in the "starting a collection" topic on the reviews page. Great sauce, no balls. That would be my official review.
