Ajarn V's 2010 Grow Log

Well, I'm finally at a place where I feel I've made some real progress. Due to Thompson-Morgan's mis-labeling annums seeds as Habanero's a friend and I lost 3+ months growing annums we thought were chinense. Okay here are some pictures;
The potting mix is identical for all 5 plants, but the 2nd Costa Red didn't get egg shells under it like the other 4. I top dressed the egg shells for that one.

Here's the last of 5 pictures;

Edit: I'll be adding chocolate Habaneros, early Jalapenos, bhut Jolokias, and Dorset Naga's in a few weeks.

That's a valid excuse! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Those costa ricans look awesome! How old are they now??

About 6 weeks, but a little over 3 weeks since I re-potted into the new soil mix I made up. They are loving the rain water; it really seems to make a difference.

Looks good AV, a petty about those annums though! I hope you kept them after 3 months of nurturing them.....

You know, I was so pissed off, I gave them away to some friends in our village. Those annums are so common here, they just weren't worth it. To add insult to injury, my friends told me they weren't even spicy; so good riddance.
I know my chinense aren't wonderfully gorgeous, but after 6 months of challenge after challenge; they represent my tenacity and the reward of one step followed by another and another.
Anyway, thanks for the comment and cheers.

nice pix! good to see your plants are doing well.

Thanks Franz; an old house painter told me long ago: "Don't let the bastards get you."
I never have. Cheers.

Entering new territory today; planted early Jalapeño, chocolate Habanero, bhut Jolokia, and Dorset Naga seeds. I'll now have, what has been, my 2 favorite peppers; Jalapeños and Orange habaneros. The others I've never had.

Haha. knowing my country's lax security when it comes to importing seeds, I could have some uhm... weed seeds sent over. lol.

but I won't. not yet. I think. hahahahhaha.

thinking about it. lol.

no place to grow it though.

W00t, finally a grow log from Verne!

Nice plants, Verne!

Thanks. I hesitated because my plants pale by comparison to most of the others I've seen here. Here in my area of Thailand, it's mostly a lack of choices, so the difficulty was/is learning how to make what one can't get. Thanks to other posters I've been able to finally figure it out.
By the way; how's it going down M'sia way? Still hotter than hell? We're moderating slightly (37c instead of 39) and finally getting rain.

Its still averaging between 32-34 currently.

My baccatums, annum and frutescens are doing good.. some started flowering already, so cant complain :)

My chinenses - 7pod, Bhuts and T.Scorps are not doing so good. They're still slow growing, i kinda cut down on the chinenses currently and focusing more of my attention and energy towards Annums, frutescens and baccatums (my first time growing baccs).

Next up are my Orange Habaneros of the same age as the CRR's
