68MUDSTUD's head start on 2011!

I agree Patrick, we had frost 2 nights ago. My super hots are full of unripened pods so they all got covered. I hope that did some good, would hate to lose them all. I think I will be setting up the shelves and starting them right after Christmas this year. Think I planted these in mid-January, that's not early enough.

I have a Bhut Jolokia that is over 8 feet tall and has at least 30 juvenile pods on it. Going to suck watching it freeze up and die. I may pick them and make a batch of green pepper mash.

UPDATE!

Man I cant wait till late this month/beginning of next month to start more!

I ended up doing the same thing you did starting super early haha though not quite as early..mid October. So far everything is up except Douglah, I have them under a 400W HPS. I am quite worried about the length before them actually going outside and them getting too big.

Well, I got some new sprouts over the weekend! Thanks again ThePepperGrowingMan!

First up is two Giant Jolokias!

Where did you get these last year?

From my neighbor who ordered them from pepperjoe's. Turned out awesome for me, hope you have similar results. I sent you fresh pods didn't I?

And, im waiting for another T-5 to show up in the mail this week ssometime! w00t!

Looks good! I plan on starting mine in January (started later this year and didn't get as much as I could have) and threads make this make me want to start sooner!

500 plants? Wow. I'd love to see pictures of that.

Jamie

Looking pretty damn good MUDSTUD. You sure got me jonesing to play in the dirt. Sorry about not posting the pics of my giant BJ, too late now.

dang, you did get a jump on next year...and the plants look like they are doing fine...

have you treated for the little bit of mold I see in one of the pics?...you may know but you can use cornmeal sprinkled on top and it will kill the mold...will leave the top of the soil a little crusty but it never hurts any of my seedlings...

are you going to grow in the ground or containers?

Thanks for the kind words, fellas, sorry i havent updated in a while but my computer took a poop and just got a new one. so, im back. \

AJ, I have never had a problem with damping off so no i didn't treat it. I'll keep that in mind in the future though. thanks. I'll be growing in ground. im going to have to amend my soil pretty heavily though. my entire yard is shale and clay. but thats not too big of problem.

I love working construction..... I have a bunch of longer stuff that isnt in the pic, that i have some pretty cool ideas for raised beds.
