New to the Forum

I've always enjoyed the hot stuff. When I was growing up my folks didn't share my enthusiasm. The generic spicy brown mustard was some kind of epic adventure for them. However they were supportive of my interests and a trip to the grocery store, farmers market, etc always netted me some goodies.

Never grew up veggie gardening...forget chiles...LOL. Only started gardening back in 02', OP'ed tomatoes got me hooked, and one thing led to another y'all know how the story goes. Really started going to town in terms of growing peppers two seasons ago. Jumped in the deep end from day one. Virtually everything I grow be it peppers, maters, eggplant, kale has been from seed. Lots of good times and some failures. DAMN YOU Charleston Hot...two years in a row you've stuck it to me:shocked: !!

C.baccatums are probably my fave. Especially Criolla Sella and Brazilian Starfish. Have 27 hot cultivars going this year and 9 sweet ones. Seedlings are looking good, started several flats a month ago this Wed and virtually everything has been transplanted. Devil's Tongue, Mossman Lemon Yellow and an unnamed C.chacoense cultivar(received in an overseas trade) started slow but have really come on strong last week or so. Well, good to be here, hope to see ya around. Cheers everyone!!

Welcome!

I love the baccatums, too. I grow Lemon Drop, Criolla Sella, Pilange and Dedo De Mocha every year, and always try and squeeze in a couple of others to try.

Oh...whacha growing?

Mossman Lemon Yellow

Is that another baccatum?

Hungarian Black...can't go wrong
Lemon Drop/Hot Lemon/Aji/12 other names
Martin's Carrot Chile...another Amish goodie, dates to 1860's
Mossman Lemon Yellow...a C.chinense, looks like real stubby Hab.

Be trying to figure out how to post attachments, I'm not too handy on the computer. I'll git er' done at some point and share pics. Cheers!!

Ooooh, I'd forgotten to tell you all about the veggie patch we'd set up in our garden! Tiny by American standards, but we're chuffed with it. I don't recall what's growing: from memory: spinach, parnsips, garlic, cabbage, broad beans... and other stuff. It's my wife's area. I do herbs and chillis.

Anyway, welcome! ;)
