Here is the description directly from the auction:

CaJohn's 5 bottle set of the Legend

This set was given to me in 2006 from CaJohn. What makes this set so rare is there are 3 bottles made of each year that are the first off the production line (#1-3), and then the regular production begins with #1 to last number.

The first 3 bottles (Test Samples) are meant for Family #1 went to CaJohn #2 to his son #3 to his wife Wicked Wanza.

This set is #2, the first 3 bottles produced were always marked on the bottom with the correct #1-3

Set was valued at $3000.00 two years ago and was the prized set of my collection of over 1200 bottles, set can be verified by John Hard (CaJohn) Himself. This is the last of my prized collection.

Set has all years produced of the Legend,

2002 - no bottles were marked except 3 designed for family, has rare multi sided bottle

2003- Marked on inside certificate, bottle and front birch case #2 and bottom of bottle

2004 - Marked same as above

2005 - Marked same as above

2006 - Marked as above but also has signed on certificate and bottle 06 last year of production.

The Legend was created because of the world famous Red Savina, at the time the Worlds hottest pepper, Like a fine wine each year was bottled for that years Red Savina crop. Made a s a Red Savina Puree.

Each bottle comes in a birch wood case.

I remember when those originally came out, definitely a nice looking set. Congrats!

As for the economy, that's one of the reasons we haven't put out a "Batch" collectible in a couple of years. Many people don't have a lot of disposable cash handy these days, and I feel bad putting out a product that many regulars would have a hard time affording, or would have to stretch their budget too much to get. I guess you could say my cryogenically frozen heart beats with a tad bit of empathy from time to time.

I get that...all too well.

Just save a low # for me when you fire up the cauldron....;)

Thanks, y'all!

Owning something so popular...and, yet, so limited and rare.....is really kind of a rush!

....kind of like the DEFCON Deathmatch set!!

Hey Paulky, I think someone is knocking on your front door. hehehe

:sneaks around to the back door:

Do you see the case of keystone sitting on the front porch? That's what I call a diversion.

:quickly runs away:

I must agree with you about economy and money BUT...I am looking forward to your next batch Reserve. Christmas time is a good time to release one-then my wife has something to get me for Christmas! lol Keep up the good work.

Definitely not releasing the Batch #6 this year. We have many of the various raw materials for the packaging, but we haven't even begun making the Zero for it. Considering the time it's been since the last release, we want to make this thing quite memorable.

I understand.

Plus, it's GOT to be tough trying to out-do yourself with every batch!

I admire your dedication!
