My first grow log

My Growing list for this year

Aja Lemon
Trinidad scorpion
Pusa jwala
Douglah
Scotch bonnet (from a friend)
Super chilli (from last years plant)
Jalepeno

I have been growing super chillies for the last few years with great success and love them. I have decided to expand my selection this year with some interesting varieties.

I Invested in a heated propagator that kept the temp at a constant 30c.

I followed advice from the guys at the Hippyseedcompany (who provided the TS,douglah, aja lemon and pusa jwala seeds) and used jiffy pellets.

After 3 weeks I have had some success.

I have potted on some of the stronger ones and they seem ok, I am keeping them indoors in the south facing bay window. Temp is set on my house central heating to 16c but it gets up around 22/23 when the sun is out. Not that often in England at the moment!!!!!
I have a green house ready to take them later in the year.

I am buzzing about my chillis this year and cant stop talking about them. Due to nature of my job I am now in Germany for 3 weeks so I wanted to set up a webcam so I could watch them but my wife said that was going to far. She thinks a pay more attention to them than her!! Crazy i know!!!!

I also grew super chillis last year and it did great. I branched out to the super hot varieties this year. I totally understand the wife situation. Mine is the same way! hahah.

Yeah. Mine just said she can't wait until I get them out of her closet. I had to move my clothes to her part of the closet so I could hang lights. She said she is sick of this pepper foolishness. :O

They look very healthy. I have a WebCam to watch them germinate and grow on my list for next year as well. I think we will start seeing alot more stuff like that in the comming years.

They're looking real good!!

I must be the luckiest man in the world because my wife shares the same passion as I do for the superhots. They need to be a little more supportive to their men. I hope I'm not offending anyone.

I must be as lucky. My wife to supports it and can actually beat me most of the time :)

Well Mike, my wife is the one with the real green thumb. She grew up gardening all of her life. I come from the city and couldn't grow anything for the life of me. I have learned a lot from her since we got together and never looked back. I'm still a green bean, but good enough to produce some nasty superhots. Always looking to improve!!

Excellent start king. Can I make a suggestion? I think you need to get those established plants still in the Jiffy starts potted up quick (if you haven't already). The roots grow through the webbing material and will be damaged when you remove it. Also, those little guys will dry up fast in the Jiffys and that would be a shame because they look like they are off to a great start. Good luck man.

Cheers neighbour

Did manage to pot on the best ones from the pellets last week. I am now in Germany so my lovely wife is doing the rest as we speak (bless Her) Cant wait to get home in 2 weeks to see how they are getting on. Germans dont seem to be into hot sauce or curries. Found some hot curry powder in the local supermarket that was labeled "English style"
Thanks for the advice
Daz

My lovely wife has potted on some more of my plants while I am away in Germany.... Bless. Cant wait to get home to see them (her too) but wont be for a couple of weeks yet. They are all doing fine I have been told.

Still in Germany......3 days to go. My lovely mother in law holding the fort at home this week. The picture above is a sauce from last years super chillis and scotch bonnets. Hoping to do better this year.

This are from last year.

Back home at last!!

Pretty pleased with my babies they seem to be coming along ok.
Feeding them with Chilli Focus once a week half strength as per instructions on the bottle. The weather here has been great lately with plenty of sunshine.
I have moved some Jalepenos and super chillis to my greenhouse as the risk of frost has now passed.
My Aja lemons and Pusa jawla look ok.
Scotch bonnets and scorpions look strong and seem to have a nice green colour to them.
Douglahs seem ok and have nice thick stalks. I have got a pot with 2 right next to each other(see 2nd picture) should I separate them or can they survive like this?
