pics Some pics nearing end of season

Hi pepper heads!

I thought I'd post some pics of my peppers, they look so damn nice right now! It's my first try at growing and I've done reasonably well.

Hopefully this inspires those around the world just starting to get a touch of Spring with sun and warmth to keep at it!

For a while there I wasn't sure if I'd end up with many peppers, now I've got them coming out my ears! Even the first plant to sprout back in August last year (which was a really weak grower) now has 10 long fat Naga Morich pods on it. Yeah I know you should toss out the weak seedlings but it my first sprouter and I couldn't throw it out. :) So I put it in the ground and it's now on fire

Cheers once again to the people on this forum for excellent advice and patience with us noobs!

Hay G

Very nice killers you got there! just enough for maybe 2 tacos 3 if you stretch um.

I'm a nu-bee as well! just over 40 days now! The members here have been very patient with me as well,:)

Cheers, SC

Looking nice Although the Red Savs look like caribbean reds to me. Red Savs are usually bigger and deeply lobed. Sorry to be a Kiljoy. Nice pods all the same.

Hey no need to be sorry, constructive discussion is good. I have caribbean reds too, although they are smaller and don't seem to have a point at the bottom like this,

Some of the ones labeled Red Savina are a good 1 3/4 inches wide.

Thanks for sharing. As a first time gardener and pepper planter, your stuff gives me encouragement!

Yeah the point looks a bit odd even for CR. I'm not even sure if the RS's I'm growing this year are true even though as they mature they are becpming more and more Red Sav like. I've seen that red point before , just trying to remember what on. Hmmm got me thinking now!!!

Nice! I really like that tri-colored bhut pic. killer! I KNOW you've tried em by now. Any taste notes you'd care to share with those of us who are STILL waiting for our season to start? lol

Oh, and forgive my ignorance G-Aus, but I thought Australia was temperate year round. No? What IS your growing season exactly?

Taste notes, very tasty. I'm actually quite impressed by the taste of the super hot pods. I did try eating a Bhut and it kicked my arse! The heat is intense but the stomach pain is pretty uncomfortable, although I was silly to eat it on an empty stomach.

Australia is temperate but not all over, it's a pretty big country where the north is tropical but down here in Victoria, it gets pretty cold. Not cold enough for snow in the cities though. So down here we eagerly await springtime too!

I'm already thinking about the next season and whether to keep my plants or start over. I'm looking into companion plants and a few other things to make the job a bit easier ;)

Thanks for the compliments on the pics everyone

Wow dude, did you try the pod whole? I thought you said you were a newbie? lol. I like my hot peppers, but will NOT try any of the superhots whole. Just ain't happening.....hmm, unless someone paid me but even then I'd think it over. :)

So what of the other two good looking peppers you got. Any notes on those? You know we gotta pic your brain when your displaying gorgeous photos of fruit many of us have yet to even set. Fill us in Buddy!

Thanks for the info on Aussie geography. I hadn't a clue!

Yeah I couldn't help but try eating a whole Bhut. It was a small one and yes, I was well aware they are just as hot! I'd do it again but someone would have to pay me some cold cash. So I'd stick with your get paid for pain option if it ever arises ;) They go great in food though, sweaty, nose running, eye watering deliciousness (is that even a word?)

I haven't tried the Jamaican hot yellow peppers yet, I'll fill you in when I do. I also have some mustard habs which I haven't tried yet either. Of all the plant's I've grown this season (35 ish) the habanero's are producing the least pods, not including the red savina hab (if they are indeed that, jury still out) which have been very prolific. The Bhuts have produced a lot of peppers and are still developing more at this stage.

Cheers! G

I'd say that when it comes to describing peppers anything goes. Trust me, any pepper head will know what "eye watering deliciousness" means, myself included. lol. Sounds awesome.

I know your other peppers have got to be calling to you, so make sure you give us details when you get around to trying em out.

Extremely nice pods and you have one hell of a camera. That thing takes great pictures. Funny your post says nearing the end of the season. heck ours is just starting :)

Thanks! I have an interest in photography, mainly stuff that moves though. The end of season is right, although when you think of it the start of the season is only a few months away! I can sense the excitement in the northern hemisphere with pepper growers and I'm enjoying reading the posts about new sprouters and tips to make each season better than the last.
