snack-food Blair's Death Rain Habanero Kettle Potato Chips

http://extremefood.com/product.php?id=20

anyone tried these? i notice a liquor store near my house carries them (pricey though!) so i snagged some. hadn't ever had anything from blair's before. anyway, these chips kick ass! not crazy burn your face off hot, but hot enough to feel a decent burn. delicious as well...in fact i had to stop myself or i'd have eaten the whole bag immediately. was going to write up a review while i was eating them, but got caught up in something else and forgot to.

anyway, i just ordered a case of the 5 oz. bags along with a bottle of jersey death, and some of their habanero dry rub. i figured i might as well try some of their other stuff and save on shipping. i can't wait for them to get here. :) also, they were 3 or 4 bucks a bag at the liquor store, so i couldn't take much more of that.

First off, Blair's chips do kick ass. I love them, they're healthier than most kettle chips (as they have truly claimed). We sell a tonne of them at the store and right across Canada online (they're bitch to ship mind you).
You're getting your money's worth in my opinion. We sell them for $1.50 for the little 2 oz bag and $3.50 for the 5 oz bag and people pick up 5 or 10 bags at a shot.
7-11 sells them for the same price up here so we lose a little of the market to them, but I figure, screw 'em there's plenty of chip eaters in the world. We get lots of people from the neighborhood that pick them up Friday after work as an accompaniment to the odd wobbly pop or two.
I have to disagree with you slightly, they ARE hot, for the uninitiated that is. I always dare newbies to eat a 5 oz bag with no liquid refreshment and it usually makes them sweat (or moan in agony dependent on their spice tolerance). Products that are a dry application have a tendency to take away your saliva during eating which allows the seasoning powders to adhere to every nook and cranny in your pie hole so it can get nice and hot inside your mouth.
Blair makes one helluva good chip. Not too hot for me, or any other die hard chilihead, but extra spicy for the masses considering the other chips on the market. :hell:

Just a little side note as Big pretty much summed it up, if you have a Le Gourmet Chef store near you they sell them for $1.99 for a large bag or $.99 for the little one. I always buy them 2 or 3 big bags at a time. Yum.

got my box of goodies yesterday...already ate a couple bags.. great chips! yea, they aren't crazy hot or anything, but i would say they are the hottest chips i've ever had. ordering them in the mail is definitely the way to go for me..i have only seen them on sale here at this one liquor store, and as you can imagine..buying chips at a liquor store isn't the most wallet friendly activity. i wish they sold them at 711 here!

having some food i put the jersey death sauce into..pretty hot! much spicier than the chips haha. can't wait to try the habanero rub though...have to get some propane, or a new kettle grate..ours is kinda rusty.

Well...they were really good!
That's right! I forgot I shared those with you! Man, you were talking away about cars and we just kept reachin into that bag, waiting for your wife to get back from work so we all could go out driniking "cock shots" (boy, I almost just posted the picture), lol....ahhhh, good times, good times.

thats how it goes with these chips. i just keep eating them until i see the bag is almost empty..then i stop myself and say, "i should save some for later." but then i'm sitting there and the bag is right there..i can't help but open it up again and eat the rest. :D they are addictive. i think i'm going to pick up a bag of their cajun chips..anyone had those before? according to this picture..they say "hot" instead of "xxx hot" :( ..but i'm guessing they still taste great.

the corner store by my sister's house stocks these... I always pick up a few when I go to visit :P

I once bought a cajun bag and a habanero bag... I thought the cajun ones were hotter. Is there something wrong with my chips, or me? :(

I have 2 bags in the pantry now lol I open it the bag is considered gone..I have to go 20 mins to a local truck stop to pick em up so I stock up when I do

I just tried these last week...it's probably a good thing that Sheetz only carries the little $0.99 bags because those things would wreck havoc on my diet.

haha i hear you there..the only place i could find them locally was a liquor store, and they charged a bit too much for them. so i jumped online and found a good place to order, but i wound up getting a case of the larger bags. ;) they didn't last as long as i hoped, but in a way i was glad they were gone since i am supposed to be losing weight, not eating cases of delicious chips.

the wife got some of these last week from a distributor as samples to see if she wants to sell them in her school cafeteria. Loved them. I'll be getting some of them next trip to Jungle Jim's.
