How do you like your chili?

How do you like your chili?

HOT.

Drink 4 or 5 sam adams. Load it up with my bhut jolokia hot sauce I made last summer - about 10-12 bhut jolokia peppers per bottle of sauce. Pour on some hot powder mixes. Drink 2 or 3 Sam Adams. Get some frozen chocolate bhut jolokia peppers from neighbor, chop em' up and put em' in. Drink 2 or 3 Sam Adams. Reply to the " how do you like you chili" thread.Drink 2 or 3 Sam Adams - repeat for a few hours until chili is ready.

Sometimes I make chili. Sometimes I make chili with beans.

My chili beans recipe calls for ground chuck, lots of fresh
onion and garlic, beans ( Black, Pinto and Great Northern ),
homemade chili powder, cumin, tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes,
diced chilies ( whatever I happen to have... last year it
was lots of Thai ) and three hefty scoops of:

BUMP!!!

Because this is an awesome thread.

And because we are sorta getting to chili cooking season in the northern climes...

Only kinds of beans I like are cheap refried beans and baked beans. My wife makes chili with canned chili beans thats semi edible but id prefer several kinds of meat. Never had it but I bed diced zucchini would be a good filler.

Believe it or not ive Never made chili

Try adzuki beans. You love Asian food. They are these sweet little red beans. I've even made baked beans w/them.

Ok ok, that's what they use to make red bean paste too... hmm. I've been curious about the red bean paste as it's mentioned in anime frequently for its use in buns. I might have to give those a try.

J/K..... chili is what you YOU want it to be. its like toppings on a burger or a hot dog or a taco.

i made chili yesterday and tried something new. my regular recipe had tomato and i did beef stock instead. i also used dried chilis that i grew this year instead of store bought chili powder. i had to tweak up the heat as it cooked because i started on the low side so not to ruin it. about 4 lbs of chuck and ground 85/15 cooked for 8 hours on low and came out guud :metal:
