Stunted Plants

I've got two or three chinese (Or Hab & Carib Red) that appear to be getting stunted. They came out with great big leaves and now just little tiny leaves and buds unlike the other plants.

In my experience, the first set are like saucers. Then they start putting out heaps of smaller ones and concentrate on getting taller. Feed them organically and its not uncommon to see them reach shoulder height.

so you have some slow growth?

looks like some leafminer activity on the lower picture(s)

i have started to see some of that and it looks like there is a

bit of scrunching on some of the lower leaves like some brownish purplish crap

i also have both of those at my place.

you may get some slowing from plants energies being directed towards the "invaders" :scared:

for the leafminers i have been removing the leaves as i find the 'infected' ones
the scrunching am trying to ignore and hope it will go away :banghead:
as now am full into reacting to some cabbage loopers attacking
all else be damned, :flamethrower: i am trying to put the BT spray on the undersides of all
the leaves without getting it washed off by the badly timed rain showers
i think they all have hatched and they are very small so hard to locate them

kill all them F ing caterpillars

Some on my plants have shown stunted growth because of earwig damage. The tend to go for the younger tender leaves and growth tips. Lately ive been going out and 11:00-12:00 and squishing the little buggers. Not very effective but very satisfying. I've also found having a little saucer with a quarter inch vegetable oil in it is a good trap to lower the population. Might be worth putting one out to see if they're the culprits.
