Beautiful purple pods

WOW! Derek those look awesome. Be really cool if you stabalize it. Never really seen anything like it. I'd be more than happy to help you stabalize it.
Great job!

Very nice POTAWIE, as usual. :)
May I ask who are the parents? interesting how the pods produce the pigment, but the stems do not. they're usually the first to.

Nice potawie. Love the color. I have several purple plants this year and they are beautiful. Love that color. Interested to know the parents as well if your inclined to tell :)

Its a "Chinese 5 color X whippet's tail" f2. Two of my all-time favorite ornamentals bred together. I thought it would be cool to have purple and white petalled parents as well as one parent that grows upright and one growing downwards, and one with large and one small pod type.
I've got lots of f2's showing all kinds of variation but only one so far with such a great purple color and shape. Maybe it will go through a 5 color change, we'll have to wait and see

Here's another f2 growing upright and a darker, more usual purple color

Wow! They both look good amazing.

Great job on this cross.
Now you have to keep us posted on the trait stabilization.

Can you do one like this please?

Wow they look great!!

I'd also be willing to lend a hand in stabilizing if need be :) even if I am a little new to growing.

Awesome work. Great colour. What kind of heat/flavour are we talking about to go along with the aesthetics?

This is one of my annuum crosses that I've been working on, and just had to show off. I hope I can stabalize these beauties over time.

That's a great looking ornamental pod that you've been working on Potawie. :)

How many years more do you think it'll take to stabilize the seeds?

I recall reading something about the Charleston Hot Pepper taking Phil Dukes 12 years to produce...

...does it really take that long to produce stabilized hybrid seeds?

Though, i imagine it probably depends upon how many traits are being selected for...with the more chosen, the longer the breeding/screening process taking.

Are you only doing one generation per growing season, or have you tried to get a couple of generations per season to speed the process up?
