Australian Chilli restaurants- any suggestions

As you know so many Ozzie restaurants are scared of or don't know how to use all the chillie varieties.
My favourite in Sydney was the Tex/Mex "Rattlesnake Grill" in Sydney but now long gone
Here was one that looked intersting in Brisbane, anyone tried it?

There's a Szechuanese place here in Melbourne called The Dainty Szechuan that apparently isn't afraid to skimp on the heat and have some pretty dishes, but I have yet to try it. I have looked high and low in Melbourne but come up with nothing except for one place with a jolokia curry, and another with a phaal type challenge.

I have only had Montezuma's over here so can't comment.

But what is it with every restaurant in Aussie wanting to do a freaking Chicken Parmigiana ... (on the gold coast you are lucky to get a single restaurant with a different dish on the menu )
 
There is a good Thai restaurant in Maitland NSW that do all the standard stuff but at a top notch quality and they actually put on the menu:

"do not ask to modify the heat of this meal"

95% of there curries are 'melt your face off' hot but the flavour is still able to shine through really well.......

2 thumbs up...........
 
I'm going to the wrong one then. The one opposite to Shananigans or the one down the start of the mall?

Tindaloo?!
I find the vindaloo in good spicy restaurants hot enough, and I bet theirs is hotter than most, and they rate the tindaloo twice as hot as that? :hell:

Heeeey... I know that place--that's where I buy my Chipotle Tabasco!

At $15 a pop (150ml bottle) it's not cheap but it's like the only place I can find it....

EDIT:

Oh yeah, the food is pretty good too but I wouldn't say it's extraordinary or anything.

I have been there and can recommend to the meat lovers for sure. If you re vegan or vegetarian probably not the best place :rofl: but they do have some nice little pickled type chillies to eat
