Bhut id

Hi everyone

can anyone help?

I have grown some bhuts from seed & i picked this chilli today. It has gone from green for about 5 weeks then changed to this brown colour. Is it supposed to go red or is it a chocolate bhut & is now ripe. I did put my tongue on it & having never seen or tasted one before found it very very bloody hot on my tongue.

Definitely ripe judging by the seeds so what ever it is supposed to be it is chocolate or brown what ever. Not sure about it being a Bhut though. Looks more like a chocolate habalokia to me. Thems is some hot mama's too!

i recommend getting, some bhuts / naga jolokia plants from hirts gardens.

some times seeds get cross polinated.

bees, butterflys, humming birds, flying insects.

I used it last night in a curry & whatever it was, it was hot!!!

I have noticed that this & my scotch bonnets taste a little bitter, any ideas why?

I recommend staying away from Hirt's gardens. There have been several complaints here about them including me when they used(stole) my pics and other forum members' pics without permission. Also several complaints about bhuts actually being Caribbean reds or similar :(

I too recommend staying away from Hirt's gardens. I ordered four bhut jolokia plants from them last year. After growing them all summer, they turned out to be red habaneros.

I three recommend staying away from Hirt's garden. They're finally selling real bhut jolokias after shamelessly selling Caribbean reds for years and insisting that they were in fact bhut jolokias. But still, horrible customer service, frequent mix-ups, plants and seeds that don't grow true, stealing people's pictures, the list goes on and on.
