Size of put for adult chilli plants

Hi All

Quick question. If I wanted to grow my chilli plants on the windowsill what would be the best size pot for me to use? I know the easy answer is as large as possible but i would like to put quite a few chillis on the windowsill.

Hopefully when I move out from home I will get a greenhouse sorted and wont have this problem.

It depends on the variety. Some are bigger than others and want more root space. What did you want to grow?

You could bonsai some, too.
 
loads of different chillis

i am growing, jalepenos, red marconi, nagas, anahiem, hung hot wax, cordi de torno, liso, guajilo, afriquan penquin and petter pepper.

Unfortunitly, all of those like alot of dirt space (although, you could probably skimp on the Jalapenos). How big is the window cill?
