Indeed true my friend,things can be shared in miliseconds nowerdays but it still would be nice to have the choice over your own property.Yes still alive and the pictures on your account are as always amazing and must admit i have taken a look at your pictures over the last few years and if anything they inspire me to spend more time in the garden and greenhouse.

How do you watermark your pics? I have photoshop

Well if it was that simple then they would not be so against it on youtube as they would be protected from penalties on this. Many post pics and videos on there for no profit and educational reasons that are copyrighted and once youtube becomes aware of it they take it off and warn those who posted it in the first place why.

only if you make sure you have it used correctly so right picture with right pepper otherwise what educational use is it.

Even though it is free to use you are advertising it in a commercial nature as you came on here to promote it.
3. I use just a small part of an owners material
this refers to taking a quote from written material or just a small portion of a picture. For example if you take just a picture of the pod of a picture of a whole plant. Using the whole picture or most of it is using the owners material. It does not mean it is okay to use 5 pics from a persons album of a 100 pics.
4. I think there will be no market or value effect by using the photos.
Do not look at this from only your prospective as it works both ways and if one can prove you cost them market value or effected the value by misusing there material you may be liable.

I applaud chilibase's attempt to create a meaningful useful Web tool that all chiliheads can use.

I do not think that taking pictures that were released publicly on the net for everyone to see and using them to further educate and inform people is a miss use of the original pictures intent. As I perceive it the pictures he used were originally used to Show what a plant looked like. It is not contrary to the original intent of the picture to use it for exactly the same thing on another web site. I see absolutely no difference.

If someone who took a picture and posted it on the web then that picture is free for anyone to use it as long as there is no monetary exploitation of the picture. In this case it seems the pictures are only used for education and reference purpose and have absolutely no monetary value; nor is there an applied monetary interest when an educational tool is made available to the general public as this one is. The only promotion evident in here is a promotion of a educational tool that is needed by me as well as a lot of other pepper lovers. He did the work of compiling the material and organizing and publishing a educational reference for the community at large and I would you all to Encourage these types of activities instead of attempting to fault them.

This has been resolved over a month ago
They are still my copyrighted pics and I should have some say where they are used. I wanted to start my own website with my own exclusive pics but that is near impossible now. I've seen my pics on several dozen different sites now and some are advertising totally different chiles than what the pic is
I've also given or traded rights to some of my pics to people to use on their products. Is it fair for them to have these "exclusive" pics all over the net?
Sure it may be easy to point and click a pic but that certainly doesn't make the pics free
