I dehydrated a bunch of lemon drops and expected the flavor to stay... but the flavor seemed to all but disappear. I had them on a dehydrator. Would air drying keep more of that awesome lemon flavor?

You know, I have grown Lemon Drops for years, they're one of my favorites; but I've never tried to dry any. I use them fresh, in poppers, pickled, and frozen; but I've never tried to dry them.
I know, that's not much help. I was trying to remember if I had tried to dry them once, and if the lass of flavor was why I quit; but I don't think I've ever tried to dry them.

My fatalii peppers lost a lot of their lemony flavor after dehydrating too.
