pepper cures_ home remedy

So I'm curious what home remedys do you have that involve peppers?
Like pepper ground red pepper, honey and garlic for sore throat.

Any thing for the flu?

Interesting topic, jomama,

for the flu, any chicken noodle soup with a dried pepper powder...Mmmmm!

I really want to be a smart alec and say... "put a drop on your finger, rinse your finger under running water, rub your finger in your eye and you won't care about what was just ailing you"....but I won't.

Chile Juju should jump in on this thread. She's a gifted healer.

i really wouldn't bank on hot peppers as being your saviour to sickness. honey, sage, vinegar and oil of oregano work for me, along with coconut oil.

i have 2 girls at different schools and when they get sick, you can be assured, i will be staying home with one of them and that i am next in line for their sickness, no matter how often i wash my hands. i eat hot pepper sauces of many sorts and, well, it doesn't work. my hot scotch bonnet soup s just one example of somethiing i eat daily and regardless, won't kill germs!

When I was in college I couldn't count the number of kids who were always sick and I mean disgustingly sick! I was only sick a couple of times the whole time I was there...and the only thing I must've done different was put cayenne pepper powder on just about any meal I ate. I don't know of any pepper "cures" but for me the cayenne pepper powder always does the trick when I feel a cold coming on. (Of course take this with a grain of salt since what works for me won't necessarily work for others... :) )

What you will need: 4 habaneros, 2 pablanos, 1/4 cup crumbled feta, 1 piece off of a clove of garlic, 2 small shallots, 1 package dirty rice, fresh lime, cilantro and a jar of grape leaves.

chop habs, pablanos, garlic, shallots and cilantro. coat a frying pan with olive oil (a little extra) put cilantro off to side for later. saute everything else on low-med heat. Remove from pan when everything is soft (not mushy) Roughly 10 mins. (have rice cooking while sauteing this) Once rice and pepper mix is done, stir together in a bowl and put in fridge until cool. Remove and add cilantro, feta and squeeze fresh lime into bowl to taste. Stir it all together and wrap it up in the grape leaves.

Take 2 tbs. butter, 1 tbs honey, 1 tsp ground chipotle pepper melt and mix together thoroughly. For dipping sauce (don't question it, it is genius......genius doesn't make sense sometimes but headed non the less)

I doubt this will cure what ales you but it sure as hell will take your mind off of it one bite at a time. ENJOY.

Here's a home remedy that actually works and tastes pretty good.

Red Neck Cough Syrup:
1 shot of 80 proof or more liquor
2 teaspoons of honey
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 piece of hard candy (peppermints work great)
A dash or two of cayenne pepper powder

Combine all ingredients. Heat and stir until the honey dissolves. Remove from heat and cool in freezer. Serve cold (below 40 degrees).

This makes one dose. It will clear up a cough or sore throat for about two hours. It also clears out a stuffy nose. Repeat as needed.

i know one thing....jalapenos contain more vitamin C than an orange...vitamin C is GOOD for you...therefore peppers are GOOD for you....unless you have ulcers or hemroids...:fire:
