I am planting via 2 methods, coffee filter and direct sow. I want to eventually plant out 1 of each variety so I sowed 3 seeds. I soaked my seeds last night in water and planted 1 in a tray of Hoffman’s Seed Starter (thanks Ronnie),
fe6e7491.jpg

and the other two I stuck in coffee filters and plastic bags. So EVERYONE is aware, this method is not a quick one. Consider yourself warned.

When I finished planting/bagging everything, I stuck it in my tent which maintains about 81-84 and we shall keep our fingers crossed.

Now it is time to PWN some 12 year olds in MW3. Peace!

man, wish i had the room to grow THAT many plants! i am limited to just 13 and that is pushing it! good luck and look forward to following your adventure!

You planning on having 2 to 4 children bunk in the grow tent? That is awesome.

Also, Big C has a 5 page head start, so you better provide major details of your glog to catch up. Or, look ahead a bit ....... Like, what have you done (or plan to do) to amend your outdoor growing medium?

Great grow list. Good luck.....

I knew when I clicked on the 2nd link it was going to be my GL. lol.

That's quite the compliment actually :D

Your list is awesome, the grow tent will show you great results.

Your seed start set up looks alot like mine..should be good!

It's a good thing I don't use xboxlive anymore.. Then we would really be battling it out!
I had the oppurtunity to be a pro-halo player a few years back. top 150 in the world to be exact lol..
I decided I couldn't play video games for a living.. Bailed out. So here I am growing peppers :D

Best of luck to you Matt. I'll be watching.

Brandon

Great growlist you got there, goodluck with your 2012 season. Last year I had great germination rates with the coffee filter method, curious about your results.

I like what you did in the grow tent.....nice idea......The bench is the perfect working height.
Unless space is an issue, why do people start their plants low or on the ground, that's back breaking...

Greg

Quick story (walking into Lamaze, god help me), woke up this morning and a handful of the coffee filters weren't moist. The bags were but the filters were a bit dry. So, command decision, rapid rooters it is. Called the boss and told him I'm gonna be a bit late (blamed it on pregnancy issues) and I commenced to planting.

So, day one and I'm already callin audibles.
Oh, I also spent a cool chunk on some deep pots and a couple seed flats id this doesn't turn out peachy.

I'll post the link and more info later. Remember folks, I already told you I don't know what I'm doing.

Those filters will dry out some once the moisture condensates on the bag. You will do well with that set up ya got, just don't LOVE them to death...

Looks good! Your tent and homemade table should do just the trick to avenge last year's, as you put it, disaster.

I definitely hope so!

I HAD room for about 2 dozen, but Judy kept coming up with too many freaking sales and freebies that 24 turned into 48, and so forth...

Very nice list of peppers Matt!
Cant wait to see your grow setup at work!!

Kevin

Thanks man, couldn't have completed it without your stuff!

Good luck man...lot of new variables. Looks like you got a great plan though!

I know, things change daily. But, that makes it fun.

Should be a fun log. Can't wait to watch all those supers grow huge! Oh and thanks my inbox is now full

Thanks man. And, no problem with the referral.

LOL, I could probably have a family of Deer run around in there! The wife was much happier when I told here that I would grow in the garage instead of the guest bedroom.

I am not worried about Brandon, he dreams in novels. Dan Brown will have a hard time keeping pace...

Your welcome, think of it as free advertising! If I could make money beating children, I wouldn't think twice.

Thanks, and I dont know if it was the filters I used or what, but I cam in this morning to a bunch of dry filters. I dont really have time to check multiple times a day, so I followed Brandon's lead and planted in a tray, as well as some rapid rooter plugs. It is kind of hard to not overthink it, but I worked a long day today and couldnt risk it drying out twice in a row.

I have NO CLUE  I dont wanna be bending over all day. Right now, it aint much of an issue, but as they grow, I will spend more and more and more time in there. The table has storage, and a ton of room for more than I can plant.

Those filters will dry out some once the moisture condensates on the bag. You will do well with that set up ya got, just don't LOVE them to death...

I know man, it is tough, especially with last years fiasco. BUT, I have a few different methods so I dont (hopefully) come up nil.

Thanks for everyone's comments, I did some more spendin today (since I traded in my car, I have a few months of no car bills). I picked up 150 3.5x3.5x5" nursery pots, a 72 flat (if I dont score with planting round 1), some trays, and other stuffs. I got the idea of the pots from Beaglestorm. The thinking is that if you pot up into them, they are 5 inches deep, instead of 3.5, which should allow enough root room for plant out. Here is the link. http://www.growersso...dgreenhousepots You can order small or large quantities. The shipping is kind of a pain in the a@@, but, I ordered 150 pots, 3 trays, a 72 cell flat, and a few domes and the shipping was only 20 bucks and no tax. I have also talked with the company and they are really helpful. Totally recommend it for anyone looking.

And we have a WINNER!

Thank you Aji Joe! The first one up is a Red Scorpanero #2. The next one on its way is a Yellow Habalokia! Pretty stoked. I like these Rapid Rooters because I can see the seeds actually break apart and sprouts start to make their way up.

But the good news doesnt stop there, I got my order from Grower's Solution today

Tons of plastic. 150 pots, 9 Trays for the pots, 4 flats, 2 72 cell trays, and some domes. I freaking love these pots, they are definitely big enough to get a great rootball before I plant out. I will pot up to these and then they should carry me all the way to April.

Also, I am really happy that I put the shelf in. TONS of storage.

Take that Brandon! :snooty:

Looks like you got it going on homey. Be on the look out I will be sending you a few brain pods later this week. Might want to get some baby wipes ( you probably have some already with Momma about to pop) for the day after burn :mouthonfire:

Thanks Jamie! I cant wait to sh!t fire! :onfire:

These little guys are poppin and I am stoked! Here is something for all of you (like me) who would rather iron your clothes while you are wearing them then read.

For the rest, I am really liking these Rapid Rooter plugs. You can watch the little guy start to pop and it is totally motivating.

This 4 pack is all Aji Joe Seeds and they are Red Scorpenaro #2s and Yellow Habalokias

This is the last Yellow Habalokia, and the first to break surface on the Hoffman's
3ec0a578.jpg

3 out of 3 for a variety this early is really cool.

I would say somewhere in the neighborhood of 40% of the plugs have visible sprouts. It is tough to focus w/o a MACRO lens, but here is a shot of one of AJ's Trinidad Scorpions

Both of AJs TS have started to pop and a bunch others are coming as well (ButchT, a few 7s, Some Diff Bhuts). I am sure in the next few days they will start to break the surface.

Here's the current Germ Map

Thanks for watchin!

your on your way... I tried the Horticubes, but the holes were so deep, they would get hung over in the hole. i haven't tried the rapid rooters yet. I don't care much for rockwool for starting seed either.

I haven't had an issue YET  with the hole depth. I have had to do a bit of minor surgery on one of the cubes because the hole itself looked a bit small. E3 (7 White) has a sprout beginning to move up and the opening looked a bit small. I took some cuticle scissors and widened the hole so it wont be blocked trying to get light. So far, I am a big fan of the RR plugs (as you have probably already noticed), BUT I have 3 up in the Hoffman's. So, we are kind of neck and neck for germ rates per medium, but the benefit to see the stuff plants move is cool.

Also, Looks like Kevin and Bryan may be uncles. Maui Purple (Wayright) in U4 and 2 TS Yellows (Justaguy) have sprouted. Yall get first crack at ripe pods if you want. I know for the TS Yellow I am going to try to isolate some pods because Brian had variation in shapes last year.
