Hi everybody!

I think I'm gonna start with sowing at the beginning of March 2012.

The seeds are all stored in my seeds book, but I'm having short time till the end of February; moreover I'm not gonna use any lightbox, so I'll grow indoor till the outside temperature is rising again in Southern Italian spring.

I started growing in 2011 for the very first time, reaching the amount of about 25 pots/15 different varieties at the end of May; other 15 were given as gifts to friends and relatives.

My growing list for 2012:

CHINENSE
Bih Jolokia Chocolate
Bih Jolokia Assam
Naga Morich
Fatalii
Habanero Orange
Habanero Chocolate
Habanero White
Habanero Red Savina
Chupetino
Trinidad Scorpion
TS Morouga
T. Douglah
7 Pod
7 Pod Brown
7 Pod Strain I
Pimenta da Neyde
Pimenta Leopard
Pimenta Elisir
ANNUUM
Goat's Weed
Black Scorpion Tongue
Peter Pepper
Ancho Poblano
Early Jalapeno
Fish
Jalabomb F2
FRUTESCENS
Tabasco
Malagueta
Bird's Eye (overwintered)
BACCATUM
Aji Amarillo (overwintered)
PUBESCENS
Rocoto

BACCATUM x ANNUUM F2 (only saved 3 seeds from the only 3 fruits that the F1 plant gave me)

It's a 31-variety list, I know I'm gonna make my blacony suffer again. I cannot keep more than 1 plant per variety, so friends and relatives will benefit even more than last year (I will start growing 2 small plants per variety, then I will focus on 1 plant).

Season's coming, stay tuned.

P.S.: I want to thank the user mascalzone (mimmo); I met him on an Italian web forum, and at least a half of my varieties are from him, including a few which are really rare and special; I hope he's gonna start a g-log, too, 'cause he's a real master in growing hot peppers.

everything but few varieties has sprouted...

still in the germbox:
- fish
- goat's weed
- rocoto
- B x A F2

rely only little hope on goat's weed, 'cause the seeds are turning brownish

on the other hand 50 tiny plants are thriving thanks to the sunlight and the spring temperature

I'll post some photos tomorrow

Hi Marino,

I had the same with some of my overwintered Habaneros... I treated them with fungicide (before bringing them in, and during the winter ocassionally) but did not helped. The stem eventually turned to black, and completely dried out... I beleive it is some disease the plant carries with itself, and it causes issues only when the immune system of the plant is weak, during the dormant period. But that is only my two cents, maybe the others on this forum have different opinion. :fireball:
The rest of the plants looks really good, it seems you will have a decent harvest.
Keep us posted.

temperature is rising and the plants are appreciating the warm sunlight

on the other hand the lack of lightbox sees that plants grow naturally = slowly, but that's ok :)

just having some problems with a douglah and a white hab, whose leaves are light green/yellowish; the rest is ok

Hey, Marino, your seedlings look really good - nice color and plump!
You have a very nice grow log going here! Good luck getting those
seedlings into pots when the time comes.
