A little help

Can someone tell me the what kind of peppers I have here? I grow a few pepper plants each year but I haven't seen these before. My wife works at a feed and seed and she brought the plant home with no ID. Thanks.

Hi 2fly, and welcome to the group!

What color do they ripen to? And can you take a picture of the flower so we can id the species? How hot is it?

I'll try to get a pic. Their pretty hot. I like hot stuff(DaBomb is my favorite sauce). There not burn ya down hot but my tobasco peppers are very tame compaired to them. Thanks for the response.

I bet they are a cross of some large cayenne type and a habanero. The wrinkling and asymetrical appearance look like a hab cross to me. And if I am correct, tabasco should put just about any large pod like that to shame. So there must be a flame thrower like a hab or scotch bonnet somewhere in the recent family tree.

Yeah? It's a strange plant. Some of the peppers are like eating bell pepper and the next one will bring smoke. All of the peppers have the two dimples at the end. I'll get a plant pic up this evening. Thanks for the help everyone.

Ok, my bad. I should have specified that we need to see the front of the flower to get clues about the species.

And I hate you, because you have rain. We're more than 12 inches behind on rain so far this year.

And I know that's not as bad as Australia or Alabama, but it's my drought and I want to agonize over it. So there.

Sorry I'm not too sharp on this stuff. We're way behind as well.I'm just a couple hours away from you in the Hendersonville NC area.

The way that one of the smaller pods is darkening (mid 2nd pic)reminds me of a jalapeno. I know other peppers do that, but that is just my gut instinct on it.
And the leaves definitely look a little habish.

Neither was I when I started posting here. This crew is good at teaching you what to look for, though, so you can figure out species and varieties on your own.

Ok, well, then I won't hate you as much. All we got last night was a heavy fog, just enough to wet the grass so Zoe the cat could have cold, wet feet when she walked across my bare leg at 2 am.

Oh, I'm so sorry! {{{hugs}}} That's always so very hard. It's not fair that their lives are so short. What kind of dog was she?

My Zoe is a cat, though, who came to live with me last year when Gracie, who was 16, died. The Puppies O'Thunder are Matilda and Abigail. Of course, they're not puppies anymore, either. Matilda is 10 and Abigail is 11.

How did that happen so fast?

She was a lab/border collie mix. I have my next victim sitting next to me, a bull terrier named Sara.

My Matilda is a lab/Australian Shepherd mix. I kinda like the lab mix part, it slows down the hyper Australian Shepherd part.
