vendor EBAY reps- karmalies0805 and the.chilli.man on ebay - seem good to me

karmalies805 the.chilli.man ID Terra

I want to talk about eBay sellers. They don't seem to have good reps in general, but ID Terra, or Tide and Terra. Karmalies805 and the.chillli.man were great - please let me know if I'm wrong. I found his stuff pretty decent and service. I had almost 100 percent germination rats in all cases.

I have seen the first seller you mentioned recently(karmalies). They have a lot of stuff that is nice. I have been curious if they were members here. I have not bought from ebay(pepper seeds) in many years. I have bought (on ebay) from the chiliman though and had good luck with germination and the right product. Also bought from asiagardens with good results.

I've only bought seeds on ebay once, from Karmalies805. I bought Aji Limon and Scotch Bonnets, both of which had great germination rates and grew true to seed. Not all ebay sellers deserve the bad rep, but with new sellers popping up all the time, and feedback really only accounting for the sale itself, it's hard to separate the good from the bad at first glance.

My first superhot purchase was from Karmalies805 a couple of years ago. It was a pretty large bhut jolokia plant. It was obvious to me he knew what he was doing by the way he documented with pictures the plants he was growing and the instructions for care he sent me. It did grow out as a bhut jolokia. He had a very small operation then, and I see now he has expanded quite a bit. I have always hoped he would join this site because he seemed like a passionate chile grower. My only experience with him was very good.

I've actually had good experiences from an ebay pepper seller as well (haven't ordered from any of the ones mentioed though). Good germ rates and the seeds grew to be what was advertised.

I would just advise people to make sure that the seller uses their own picture(s) and not ones that are ripped off from other sites (like THP). Seems like members on here have had several issues finding their pictures on other seed seller's websites.

Karmalies0805... I bought a Trinidad Scorpion plant from them last year, it definitely wasn't a Trinidad Scorpion... could have been an honest mistake, I never contacted them about it. *shrugs* Just assumed it was a typical ebay scam. I guess I'll fire off an email and see if they respond...

I'm overwintering the pepper, I never did definitively figure out what it was.

karmalies0805 got back to me in a day, says that they do isolate by bagging the plants, but accidents happen. He didn't offer me anything, but then I can't blame him because it took me so long to contact him, and my tone was more one of curiosity than irritation.

From the sounds of it they grow all of their own pods for seed, and he seems reasonably informed. We had a brief exchange discussing the characteristics of the cross and which of his varieties might have been the culprit.

I did buy some Bhut Jolokia seeds and some smoked Jolokia peppers from Karmalies0805. The peppers themselves are hot but not crazy-hot.... Maybe I'm just immuned to the heat by now but is that normal to be able to eat a whole Ghost chilli pepper in a single pasta plate :hell: ?

For the seeds, I guess I will have to wait until harvest time figure out if they are legit .... I'll keep you updated on this.

i too got peppers from karmalies0805.... plants look healthy.. one died.. partly because of my error as i have the other still alive and well.. definately will have to wait and see.. but just for insurance purposes i got a couple from an arboratum...

I'm mexican from Guadalajara, Jalisco and I don't speak english (but I can read it) I wil try to write.
I bought seeds on ebay from Karmalies0805 (3 times) and from the.chilli.man only one time. Both are excellent sellers, they sell true seeds, arrived to Mexico without problems.
I bought too seeds on ebay Au from outbackshacktraderss, that is a Rip Off seller, his seeds are Fake, I was ripped of like a lots of ebay buyers.
"We need to very careful about that"

Why not buy from trusted forum members or from sites recommended by members. I would avoid e-bay unless you know the seller, and even then I'd be cautious. I can point out errors or deception in almost every E-bay chile ad I see. Here we can pick apart the BS and provide accurate info.
Providing positive comments on germination alone is a terrible way to review products and is why many bad sellers have great reputations. Please wait to see how your plants grow before making recommendations

Months later, it looks that they are bhuts BUT a lot of people tell me they can be naga morrish.....see this :http://thehotpepper.com/topic/34061-bhut-jolokia/

karmalies0805 on ebay.

Gary sent me seeds that were all very good - high germination rates of 90-100%. Obviously, they have not fruited yet. I got no germination with the Trinidad Sweets, so he sent me another package of around 40 seeds really quickly. Seemed like a very nice guy, and knowledgeable too. He also has the web site www.HellHotPeppers.com.
