Box Project

I looked out the back window one day and thought, "The kids outgrew their clubhouse HMMM.." So I proceeded tah think through a plan, I knew my youngest boy needed some tear down experience, so lets get started. Some of the boards actually came from my first waterbed, they are over 30 years old.
We burned the worthless stuff and I proceeded to make some garden boxes, I recycle everything so all the wood will be used one way or another. The one pic is way out of focus I ran out of light, tomorrow the filling process will begin.

Looks good. They should drain well with that sand underneath, but I would maybe dig em out a little bit. Looks like you have plenty of dirt!

Awesome! and very cool to have to kids envolved and helpin out. I know when i was a your boy demolition was a project i could get into!

Hard to tell in the pics but how much sun does this spot get? Looks like it gets a good amount of shade.

I put them in partial shade the sun down here is crazy during the summer, I can't leave potted plants outside without some shade, they literally cook in our 90+ temps. Northerners fry in 30 minutes here during the winter months.
What's the point of boxing everything off on the inside?
Helps keep competing roots away from each other, sorta like keeping male Beta fish separated.

That sand is our wonderful topsoil in this area, 2-4 foot under that is Coral Rock. Since the trees run shallow roots its best to build above the top soil, I tilled the spot removing all the roots I could.

Update filled Boxes and started planting 6 scorpions 4 Jalapenos in the ground Japs are over 150 feet away from TS, was to dark tah take pics of plants

Pretty awesome. I love the reused wood. I am looking for some wood to build my boxes and I I would love to use repurposed wood instead of the stuff at the hardware store.

Thanks for the idea, now to tear down the neighbors forrtresss.
