Endorphin Rush

I know that there are many in here that are averse to extract sauces. While they are not my favorite, I don't think that this entire class of sauce is without merit.

For those who like heat, but don't like what is often described as "that chemical taste" that capsaicin extract imparts to a sauce, I would recommend Endorphin Rush. I had some again last night, and I have to tell you - I like this sauce. I can't recall seeing another sauce that uses molasses for a base. It is an interesting approach, and it all but masks that chemical taste that many dislike. What the molasses does is make this a dark, rich, flavorful sauce that doesn't have any close relatives.

Is it hot? You bet. But it won't kill you. It is not as hot as Toxic Waste, for example. I would put it at around the same heat level as DEFCON 1, which I will also eat again.

I love the taste of peppers, so I generally like pepper mash-type sauces (I love Hurricane Mash and Matouk's Flambeau, for example). I know that many of you feel the same way. Every now and then, though, I like a little variety (okay, maybe a lot of variety) and Endorphin Rush is a great experience. Give it a try.

As an after thought, This sauce would probably be a great additive to your chicken mole.
