Jamison's 2012 Grow Log Now overwintering

[background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Hello everyone and welcome to my very own Glog. Got a later start than normal this year but I'll keep em under the lights 24/7 til end of May or early June, properly harden off and plant in 5 gallon buckets. All seeds came from Pepperjoes.com and pepperlover.com. Also one Burpee seed. Soaked seeds overnight on 3/27, and all went into coco pellets the next morning and placed into a propagator for germination. As soon as I had a sprout the dome came off for air circulation. Last Saturday, took all the sprouts I wanted mixed up 1 part perlite, 1 part vermiculite, and 3 parts Promix organic soil , took the netting off around the pellets and planted into the oh so famous solo cups, with holes drilled in the bottom of course. They have been under a 4 tube, 2x4 foot, 54 watt T5 since sprouting. Very impressed with that light. When seedlings finally start vegging I will be hittin em up with the old Fox Farm trio . Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. Also got some Organic CalMag that I might experiment with.[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Here is the line up:[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Pepper Joes:[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Giant Bhut Jolokia[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Scotch Bonnet[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Hot Cow Horn[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Butch T Trinidad Scorpion[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Anaheim[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Hot Jamaican[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Burpee:[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Hot Lemon[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]PepperLover:[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Bhut Jolokia Red[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Scotch Bonnet Red[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Scotch Bonnet Yellow[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Naga Morich[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Trinidad Seasoning[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Early Jalapeno[/background][background=rgb(233, 216, 193)]Here is where I was about two weeks ago.[/background]

Ill post some more and update tomorrow night hopefully. They are all starting to pump out their first and second set of leaves and looking pretty decent. I'm having a tough time with the Naga's but hopefully they will pull through.

UPDATE! All pics were taken on 4/23/12. Things are growing nicely. All have been fed twice now with 1/4 strength Fox Farm Grow Big and Big Bloom. Leaves are filling in nicely, even between nodes. Heres some pics.

All were started from seed and sowed on 3/27-4/1 and been under a t5 24/7. I'm really thinking about getting geo pots instead of using plastic 5 gallon buckets. Just keep reading very good things. Also am gonna plant one or two of each variety in the ground just to see a difference in production really. Hope everybody likes what they see. Thanks for looking!

Your plants look really healthy!.........If we had carpeting in our house and I put my pots on them, I think I'd have to run for the hills!..........lol
It's a good thing that Berber Carpeting cleans up easily...
Good luck with your plant-out

Greg

Cool looking plants Jamison.
Good luck with the grow and keep it up
Thanks KingDenniz

Good looking plants J. What is the reasoning behind topping them?
Thanks MGold86. The reasoning is to grow bushier plants with more main stalks. I'll post a pic tomorrow of exactly what it does. Thanks for looking!

Yup they are doing pretty well. Thanks for the compliment! I have all my plants growing in my mancave up in the attic. The wifey never comes up there thank god or she'd probably fall over dead!

Update! All pics were taken today 5/1/12. Can't believe its May already  I potted up 20 of them and have 10 more to go. Couldn't believe how root bound they were. Meant to get a pic of that too now that I think about it. I topped a couple of them, and new growth is splitting off nicely. Anyways, here some pics.

Hey Jamison, sorry it took me so long to get here. I'm old and slow lol.
Your set up and procedures look impeccable; you have a very nice grow
going with some great varieties coming along. Your plant out in May or
June should be spectacular - can't wait to see some pod porn from your
plants! Good luck going forward, buddy!

Thanks a lot Paul! I really appreciate the kind words!

dayum, things lookin' good bro. All look healthy and happy. I like the fearless topping going on haha. wunderbar! I'd say watch the fertz...I was using a light solution on my plants and they got jacked up quick. One watering everything was great, the next time I ferted....which was two waterings away....bam!, they all started to yellow from the bottom up and all the leaves started falling off (as you know from my glog lol) On the good side. They are pumping out new bushy growth all over. (even if all of the bigboy leaves are falling off)

In anycase looks like you are doing great man. I will PM you about those plants bro. "Man cave is off limits and the carpet is for the comfort of the plants!!!" :hell:

Thanks man. Yea I might have gave them a little too much fert, but I potted up and flushed and new growth is looking good. I'm gonna start calling it the Pepper Cave for a little while. Its starting to get freakin hot up there, especially today! Yea just send me a PM whenever man. Thanks for stoppin by!

You got some mad skills Jamison. Where you been? ;)

Thanks Romy6, really appreciate that. I just found this site or would have been here a lot sooner, trust me!

Thats one sweet ass pepper cave you got there! Them babies have SUPER thick stems! Deep green too man. Did you top?

Thanks man. Means a lot coming from you! Yes a few of them I topped that started looking leggy to me. Yea buddy, I am not scared to cut the tops of plants. Its sooooo worth it in the long run IMO. I've noticed especially with peppers it really doesn't slow growth down tremendously. They pick right back up and the bottom branchs are much happier. I can't stand looking at leggy plants. And the stems are beefin up quite nicely. I read your glogs and seen your overwintered plants and totally inspired me. At least 5 of these babies will be celebrating Christmas with the fam. Thanks for stopping by man. Seen your pics of your vacation and they all looked totally surreal. Good luck with the restaurant and your plants this year. I'll check in on your glog man and grab a seat!

Update!!!!!!!!

What the hell man, how did you get those Scotch Bonnets and Bhuts to grow so incredibly fast, they are like one and a half month old but look like they are 3 months old!
