Thanks for stopping by, and check back soon, I'm sure this season is bound to be interesting.

those pots are sick!
I think so. Much better root growth compared to containers i've used in the past. My peppers seem to be liking them as well. Gonna try and keep everything in airpots from here out.

Wow, you have been working hard! And it always seems to be a work in progress.
Yes, It's been a labor of love. It'll never be done, but I never mind working in the garden.

I needs to get me a fence . . .
Well I got this fence to keep to rabbits out, but after installing it I found a rabbit the size of a cat in the garden area.
Amazing how they can squeeze through. I'd recommend using poultry fence...less chance of fat rabbits getting through..

This mornings update:
All the plants got a nice watering in anticipation of 100 degree temps expected today.
Everything in Promix got fed this morning as well.

Nice work! Looks like you have plenty of room to add more beds too!

Are you on the Front Range?

BTW, I don't think the fat rabbit got through the fence. He went under the bottom right corner of the gate ...

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my grow log.
Yes, I'm on the front range, I'm right in between Denver and Boulder. Thankfully not too close to either..
Been here for 14 years, wow, man time flies, must be having fun...
I have been repurposing the wood from the half-deck we cut out and used that to create the raised beds.
Next on the construction list will probably be an arbor/trellis for the raspberry and blueberry bushes.
And yes, more beds are always a possibility..

Happy 4th everyone!
Nothing too exciting in the garden today.
Gave all airpot peppers a good drink this morning. Expecting upper 90's again today.
This biggest event today was the potting up of my last 3 sprouts into 1 liter airpots.
Red Brain Strain, Dorset Naga, and a 7Pot Barrackpore.

Have a great day all!

Those airpots are cool looking! Are they expensive? Your plants seem to love them!

BTW, did you get any rain on that side of the state yesterday? We had a thunderstorm roll through late yesterday afternoon. First precipitation we've had in a couple of months!

I like the results I've been getting from the airpots.
They run approx $2 for the 1 liter and $4-5 for the 1.5 gallon.
For my budget they're a bit on the pricy side, but my kids are worth it..

No rain yesterday, But I got a good hour long downpour today.
The first "real" rain my plants have ever seen.

The following are the remainder of my peppers in airpots:
red brain, butch t, 7 pot barrackpore, dorset naga

giant bhut, red scorpion, yellow scorpion, red superhot surprise

I'll have the remaining 7 plants posted tomorrow.

Believe it or not...We got rain last night. All night.
This was the first true rain that any of my plants have seen.
The forecast for the coming week looks really good for pod production.
Here is the final installment of first round pics. I wanted to get a pic of each plant posted early.
Most of these didn't handle the 100+ degree temps too well, But they survived so we'll see how they develop:

And to close out today's update a family shot:

Beautiful arrangement, awesome variety! What kind of pots are those black pointy ones? I've never seen any like that. It seems it would encourage root growth in all directions as water passes through.

Thanks!
They're called Airpots.

It's been raining on and off for the last two days, which is more than welcomed in this state.
My plants seem to be enjoying the cooler temps and ocassional cloud induced shade.
It's also been nice not having to water everyday as well. A welcomed break for me.

On Saturday, I was on a mission to increase the airflow within all my bucket containers.
I gotta thank Chsy83 for the inspiration with his "butch in a bucket".
After seeing the quantity of holes he drilled, I knew I had to add more to my existing containers.
So after grabbing a 1/2" drill bit and cordless drill, I got to drilling.
I "ventilated" not just all the pepper containers but the cantalopes and watermellons that I have in buckets too.
Here's one of the pepper containers before and after:

I'll drill more holes eventually, just didn't want to go overboard on the initial run.

The first peter pepper pod.

Here's a photo of my larger airpots lined up that I posted in another thread.

I decided to get a measurement on the giant bhut and atomic starfish.
Bhut is around 12-13" and starfish is approx 15-16"
