powder vs fresh

Still learning and looking to again shortcut experimenting. Its hard to get fresh peppers here in Washington USA. Sometimes they have them and next time not. I like sweet pickles as well sweet apples for snack. I have been buying a jar of the pickles and slicing a Hab or two and putting it in the jar. Same goes for slicing apples and putting them in sweet pickle juice with habs in it. Question is what would be an approximate ratio of powder to the fresh if I can't get the fresh? I have an easier time getting dried or powder.

Smoked powders has their benefits, but just normal powders are nothing like a fresh pepper.
Ratio? Just put as much as you want, it's really easy controlling the heat level with powders.

Remember, peppers have a lot of water in them, so equal weight of powder is a lot more.

good call

I don't exactly agree.
Well you don't have to, it's called "opinion".

I really enjoy both smoked and non-smoked powders. I do both. it all depends on the pepper used. Lemon drops are wonderful w/o smoking because they have a natual lemon undertone flavor. Some C. Chinense are very fragrant as well. Fresh are good too though!

I agree Chris, certain ones smoke well while others are best without smoke. Fresh is usually best but its easier sometimes to use powder.
