Naga PC-1 (C. Frutescens)

I bought these seeds from a reputable garden centre and planted them in November. Aren't they supposed to look like cayenne peppers? I've tasted one and it is VERY hot.

While we are at it, I bought a habanero seedling a few months ago and that has grown really well, these look like Habs to me...

Those are definitely not the Tezpur PC-1! The ones in your picture are almost assuredly a C.Chinense of some kind, what one I couldn't say. How is the flavor? I've heard that the PC-1 isn't all that good, and is very seedy. I'd still like to try it someday, though :)

Definately not PC-1. I grew them 2 seasons ago and Hendrix described them perfectly.........very seedy and not a good flavor. Only redeaming quality IMO is that it produces a ton. Don't look alot like cayenne, but alot more like cayenne than what you have there.

Excellent news, I've tasted a sliver of a very green one a few weeks ago, didn't taste of much but had a burning sensation on the tongue for ten minutes. There were quite a few seeds in it, doesn't look like a Bhut, maybe a Dorset naga?

Will be tasting the one in the picture on Monday so will let you know what it's like

I agree, doesn't look like a Frutescens

I also think Chinense of some kind. Now, shape wise ? Maybe someone crossed a Frutescen - say bell pepper - with a Habanero - it is longer than a hab, got that bell shape. I doubt it -but that's my dart I'll toss !

Bells are actually Annuums. Frutescens would be Tabasco, Bird's Eye, etc. I agree with you, though, that there may be some Annuum cross going on with the one in the picture.

Ate a slice today when it was almost fully ripe, not experienced with eating chillies but ate a whole Apache F1 recently and that was about 20% of the temperature of the 1cm slice I ate today!

Will leave the rest fully ripen now before eating but would love to know what it is just so I know in what ballpark the heat level is!

Here is a pic of my naga pc-1. Man I miss this plant.Ants killed it after two years of solid production. Seeds were from Vlad at rainbowchiliseeds.com. I have plenty of non isolated seeds if your interested.
