pests WHAT BUG IS THIS?

i am curious as to what kind of bug this is. is it beneficial or not? thanks in advance.

Dont you dare speak of squash bugs!!!! They destroyed my squash cantelope and cucumbers grr. I kill all bugs but ladybugs spiders mantises bees
 
Good.do they eat mosquitos flies and box elder bugs? Maybe some japanese bettles!

Still have yet to see those walking stick bugs in my life. Id be honored to hold one.
 
Assassin Bugs will eat anything they can catch. Saw one suck a stink bug dry, and Iowa must be the only state in the midwest without those insects.
 
Iowa city is is like 2 hrs away :P but im sure we do but ive never seen those before. I check my plants everyday also. Hopefully next year!

Would that eat tomato hornworms?
 
I had 1 assassin bug in my garden this year. I guess he got bored and left since he can't eat aphids or whiteflies I'm assuming.
