New Smoky Hot Tradition

Last year as I harvested the last of the pods off of my orange hab, I put the ripe pods in vinegar. I took the green pods and grilled/smoked them and added them to the same jar.

I had some salsa this morning made with two of the orange and one of the green(now a little black) pods.

YUMM!! the already slightly smokey taste of these habs is accentuated and enhanced by the real smoke and charr to make one awesome smoky salsa!

Have you tried Chocolate habs Cheezy? They are quite smokey to start with but even better when smoked. Puriras and white habs are quite smokey too.

Sounds like a good plan.

Nice! I n my limited pepper growing history, the orange habs were the first to have a real smoky note. I thought I had discovered smoky peppers lol! Ahhhhhh the good old days of being a complete noob.

In some ways I still am though. This will be my first season with some really serious burners.
