Kramer Chids 2012 (indoor) / 2013 Glog

I really like the Glogs on this forum as it is such a great way to learn and see what folks are doing and growing.

I grow a lot indoors with most of my collection being Parvisepalum Orchids, a few straggler Tillandsia, violets, dyckia, and Cryptanthus. My son is getting a rather nice collection of Carniverous plants going that includs Nepenthes, Sarracenia, Drosera, and Flytraps. I will post pictures of those later.

I focus my growing as organic as possible and grow under HO T5's. I will be starting the following seeds right now for 2012/2013:

Trinidad Douglah x Trinidad Scorpion (Brown) F3 - (Silver_Surfer)
7 Pod Brain Strain (Red) - (Silver_Surfer)
Trinidad Douglah x Butch T (Red) - (Silver_Surfer)
Chocolate Bhut Jolokia - millworkman
Caramel Bhut Jolokia - millworkman
Red Bhut Jolokia (White towards stem) - millworkman
Chocolate Habanero - millworkman
Trinidad Scorpion Moruga - millworkman
Yellow Fatalii - millworkman
Habanero 'Harold's St. Barts' - Dilly's
7 Pod Brain Strain (Yellow) - Dilly's
Primo

So that is it for now. I guess I will throw in a few pictures.

Glad to see you started a Glog.
I'll definitely being following..
Nice to see another Front Range pepper farmer..
Impressive starting line-up too.
Best of luck on your 2013 season!

do you grow blooming Tillandsia ionantha from seed where would i get some if thats how they are grown they look super cool

and what about that zebra looking one in the last pic what is that called

Tyler, you can grow Tillandisa from seed but they are sloooooooooow. Germination is easy and you can sew the seeds on a screen or a lufa. They are easier to just purchase as they aren't very expensive. I will send you a PM to a good source. The tiger striped plant is a Cryptanthus 'Cold Tooth'. Like a Tillandsia it's a member of the Bromeliaceae family. They are very easy to grow. I added another picture of my ionantha 'Ron' as it has a couple of more flowers up. I also included a few pictures of some of my son's carnivorous plants and since this is a pepper forum I added a few of my recently planted Primo seeds. I have them in Ocean Forest cut with vermiculite while growing indoors.

Welcome to the glogosphere, friend! Looks to me like you have it dialed
in already. Nice catalogue of specimens, very interesting. If you do as
well with the peppers, you will be holding on line classes for us! Good
luck going forward with those seedlings. How old is your son? Cool that
he's interested in horticulture!

Holiday cheer

PaulG - Thank you very much. We love any and all plants around here. My son is 11 and he is amazing with plants. His whole hands are green. I added some pictures below of some new plants in his collection.

I got a great package in the mail today from, Joemamma. Look at alllllll that HEAT. I already have the seeds drying and my mouth is still burning. Thank you so very much, Mr. Mamma. :D

Some pygmy Drosera carberup gemmae we planted. Gemmae (those little green dots) are a little larger than a seed and are actually a leaf form that is asexually produced and is an exact clone of the mother plant. Growing time to maturity is only four months vs. a year or more from seeds.
