Joshua's 2013 Organic Glog

Well lets hope my 2013 growing season goes great, and I get some activity in my glog. I dont plan on having a big garden but will be growing the following:

20-25 Fatalii's
20-25 Carliona Reaper's
10 Brain Strains (saved from last year)
10 Big Bertha Bell Peppers

I will be using Roots Organic 707 (Fatalli's and Reaper's) and Promix mixture (Big Bertha, and Brain Strain), They will be grown in either 5 gallon Root Pouches (Thanks to Chris at Alpha Hydropnics) and 5 gallon air-pots.

I will use also be using the Roots Organic for fertlizer and Xtreme-Gradening for my mykos and pre made tea brews.

To start off with some photos, here are the Fatalli's and Reapers I am germanting to get me to what the amount I need. I have most others started already, but will be posting them tommorrow when the sun is out.

Not that small of a grow!

Ok, Here are some pictures that I snapped real fast. I did all these transplants Friday/Saturday of last week.

Here are the BrainStrains I had from last year. They are in 5 gallon root puches will they will remain until they die.
The 2 in back are over a year old, and gave thema big air cut. Hopefully it will grow in a little better this year.

The other smaller ones are ones that were in some cheap compost and in the shade alot. But now they in some good soil
and a good location for these short winter days.

This next row are my Big Bertha Bell peppers. They have been in small gallon pot since october, They did have to much
water and where in a shaded spot (2-3 hours of direct sunlight). They also enjoy 3-4 nights in the mid 40's. They did get a little
bit of damage from the cold, but they should bounching back here soon.

They are in roughly a 3.4 gallong air pot. They will stay here until they are completely dead.

Finally, in this row we have a few of the Carolina Reaper (HP22B) that have been harden off and moved outside. They
are starting to se flowers like crazy. They are sitting in a roughly 2 gallong (7.5l) air-poto where they will be spending the
winter months in. Come March they will be transplanted to a 5 gallon (20l) air-pot for the remainder of there life.

Do you bulk buy your air-pots and if so from where?

I buy them by case, I either use my local store (some times they match prices sometimes they dont). I have order from Discounty Hydro (http://www.discount-...roots-air-pots/)out in California. They sell there indivualy, but still get a great price on them.
Another place i order tea from HydroGalaxy (http://www.hydrogala...TerraHydro.html), carries them also, but they were on back order until the new year. They sell theres by the case only, but have free ground shipping.

I order 20 7.5L, and they cost me 6.49 each, and 29 bucks to ship from Cali to fla for Discounty Hydro and Hydro Glaxy a case of 7.5L cost 77.52 for 12 of them ($6.46 ea).

Some people dont like them, or think they are expensive, but I been having good luck with them. Here is my 6 brains in them. So I have been happy, i might put 1-2 of my reapers in the root
pouches and see how they grow compare to each other. They says a 3.4 gallong air-pot is suppose to be teh same as using a 5 gallong nursery pot.

And here is there sizing chart http://www.terrahydr...ntSizeGuide.pdf

Here my last 2 pictures for the day.

These are the second set of reapers that I just moved out to the carport today. Its suppose to be the mid 70's during the day and mid 60's at night
for the next 10 days. So figure would better time to harden them off than now. Plus today is dark with off and on rain.

The plants in the solo cups are some tomato's i am going to try and grow in a earth bucket.

These reapers look a little more healthier.

Are those the 3L airPOts?!? You should have some reaper pods really soon. Maybe feb or march!!

Those are the 1l, They are .8 Gallons, once the plants gets a little bigger, they dry up fast, but i am giong to use them for my new seedling when they sprout. I am hoping to have also those in pots either Friday/Saturday this week.

70 plants sounds like a pretty good amount!
Your grow looks great, ready to kick into high gear!
Gotta love the Florida grow season!

Ok, I am going to try and update this once a week, I have been slacking lately and going to try and stay on top of this more often. We did have a night of frost (very rare in my parts of florida) and kind of took out my bell peppers, but did get about dozen peppers. We suppose to get down to mid 40'sF tonight, but starting sunday daytime highs of 80's and lows at night in the high 60's to low 70's.

My first batch of fatalli didnt got so well, so I got some replacement ones and sowed them around mid Janurary and some sprouted 5-6 days later with the last ones up by the day 15-18.

I finally got them in solo cups beginning of march after sitting in rapid rooters for 3-4 weeks. Just gave them 1/4 teaspoon of roots organic plant food and some organic humic acid.

Now that they are in soil and fed they are starting to take off and getting a good green color back into them. When i transplanted to the solo cup, i didntw ant to open a big bag of the roots
oganic 707 soil, so i use promix for the solo cup transplant.

My bell peppers took a hard hit after we had a rare frost about 10 days ago. So i plan on trimming them back as the weather starting sunday will be in the mid 60's at night, and low 80's during the day and it appears are spring weather is finally arriving.

Also the reapers took a litte hit, but they should recover and finally starting to find pods on them.

Here is a pic of the fatalli;s.

Also, i had brought one of my Pluemria in early to get a head start. Most of mine are in the dormant state, but Nebels Rainbow start growing it's leaves now
that I have brougth them indoors and. So once the one the other outside start putting leaves out I will move this one outside. My goal is to get them all to flower this year.

The shadow box in teh back is my little air plant kit i bought myself for my christmas present.

So hopefully I will try to update this at least once a week, if not more.

Nice glog Joshua & I’d wish you great success in your 2013 grow but seems you have it all dialed in already, great job & look! I like the Plumeria (Frangipani) in da airpot, most of mine are in the ground but I do start them in pots. Do you know the flower color?

Walk, if it grow true, it should look like this.

I am not sure what you mean by "grow true" but I have 3 different colored Plumerias, the largest is a white/yellow flower similar to yours and it's about 14' high, another which is like 3 1/5' tall produces these flowers below. I don't have pics of the big one but this time of year it barely has leaves ... if you want I can shoot it tomorrow, they're funny looking without leaves. During our rainy season it goes off on production all the time ... nice picture of your flower :)

Edit: I was wrong, my big one's flower isn't like yours, I found a picture of it I took sometime ago and it looks like this (click here)

That picture is just a google image, the ones I have now I just got last march and never flowered yet. as for growing true, so of them will flower one color one year, and down the road they can be a whole different color. Maybe when mine get bigger, and lower I can take some pic and maybe trade some cuttings? I did slack on them last year, so hoping to do better this year with them.
