need pepper I.D. please

look like lil tear drops.
Got these from a buddy who just came back from El Salvador. He doesn't know the name. he picked them off a plant in the middle of nowhere near a lake called coatepeque. He says the plant looked like a lil tree 4ft tall about 2 ft wide

they are nice and hot, juicy, kind of cayenneish in flavor, a lot of seeds(about 12 per pod)

Check out Chiltepe.
Some are shaped like yours and others are round.
One is a bush the other is larger pods and a lot bigger bush.

I think Chiltepe is just a name that can include Chiltepins,Tepins etc.
I have a couple wilds from S.America that are tree like with pods like that,Chile Pajarito,Ramalette and a couple more.
Most have a name that translates to Bird, wild bird, little bird etc.
Generic names for many similar looking peppers.

Chile Pajarito ( or Pajarito something or another) might be from El Salvador,if I remember right.

Here's a pretty interesting and informative SEARCH DATABASE for peppers you might to try.

http://www.thechilem...&genus=Baccatum

Can see the options on left there to use.

Since no listing in ORIGIN for El Salvador, try GAUTEMALA...it's right by El Salvador
Change the SPECIES from Baccatum to ANY
Then click on SEARCH

There's a pic of the COBAN Pepper that resembles yours in a sense..maybe it.
That or maybe the COBANERO below it.

I was just given a plant yesterday that i believe are  the same thing. plant is only about a foot tall but a bunch of peppers/pods. I have a pic on phone.
Guys from El Salvador, and another guy at work from Guatemala confirmed.
