Orange Habanero Red Thai Chilli Cross?

Hey guys,

Found this guy growing in my greenhouse and have been waiting for it to turn for a while now.

Was suppose to be a standard orange habanero, but seem to have an elongated shape when it was growing.

The seed itself did come from a habanero that was sat next to a thai chilli.

What do you guys think?

well if last years crop was sitting next to eachother, that would be shown in this years grow. however if they are sitting next to eachother now, that wont work til next years seeds

Yeah, definitely a orange habanero seed. Saw my brother chop up about 10 habaneros and save all the seeds and 5 of those seeds were planted about 5 months later and out of the 5 I planted, 3 survived.

Two were normal hab shapes, and this guy was the odd one out!

Turns out, the second chilli that was on the plant has gone completely red.

So, they taste like an orange habanero, grow like a mix of the thai and habanero and are red.. definitely a cross.

This is exactly what I'm aiming to do!  I'm using ornamental bird's eye so the chilis point upward when they make pods, I'm hoping I can get them to cross and have something that looks like that but "ornamental" so the pods are pointing upwards.  I don't know if that gene will be carried over because I'm guessing it's recessive.  I'm just starting in all of this but I've read a few things about the dynamics of crossing and having to emasculate flowers first and I think I can do it!  I have plenty of space and plenty of free time.
