*NOTHING* beats easy for us, sometimes ...

We've been crawling/spidering Trader Joe's prepared products for the past month, interleaving with the fresh cooked meals and a little bit of take-out to make some time for other interests ...

Color me impressed. The store here has the worst flow I've ever experienced, but the food is good, healthier on the whole, and the prices for most stuff is better than Publix/Sweetbay - excepting chicken for some reason.

I love finding a healthy option in the freezer section, one that's actually comes out good ...

Definitely hoping to reap the benefit of crowd-sourcing here ...

Trader Joe's is pretty compelling as an additional source of grub ...

Since it's THP, I'll share my latest quick fix that takes heat well ... Trader Joe's frozen pork shu mai ...

they are killer, and cheap, and store well in the freezer or what not ...

TJ's frozen food again ...

make sure it's hot by adding powder, in this case it's JHP's white habanero powder - which is PF'ing hot ...

pretty savory ...

the downside was definitely having to clean the steamer ufo-looking gadget - that dough makes a sticky mess ...

The burrito was fair at best, but the two-powder ranch was flalt awesome ... the flavor of the smoked jala, the subtle but very real heat from the white hab pow ... the burrito was mostly testing fodder for the ranch to be honest =)

Trader Joe's (again) ... they have so many eccentric things to try ...

we halved them and then simmered them in some red sauce ...

and they had some very ripe red bells for $.69/ea ...

baked and plated ...

who knew chicken meatballs could be so tasty ...

totally satisfying and would take heat well!

What the hell, baking crab cakes? Of course they were disgusting.

I'm sure they are good shallow fried in cast iron.

Think a good burger vs. meat loaf. You made fish loaf. :)

Might actually HAVE been a good idea to have given them some brulee torching in that case ...
