free Free Seasoning Pepper Seeds (Aussies only)

Hi Chilliheads,

Well I have been on a search to find C. Chinense Seasoning Peppers that have great aroma and taste but little heat.
It has been a long road with lot's of dissapointment growing these so called Seasoning Peppers.
They either have little heat with no Chinense aroma/taste or have the aroma/taste and too much heat.
Finally, I have found one that has a great aroma, taste and very little heat(around 3 out of 10).
So I have decided to give away some seed of this variety(Aussies only for now) in hope other people can enjoy the flavour without killing themselves!
Here is a piccy-

Don't get me wrong I love the hot ones but if you put 3 or 4 7-Pots in your dish you don't tend to taste anything else!
I gave a friend a plant of this to grow and he has given back lots of Chilli, so I will be giving some seed away.
The plant was grown in isolation so the seeds will grow true too.
Anyway Aussies just drop me a line with your address and will send some through. If I have enough seed I will think about sending some out to our overseas bretheren.

Happy Chilli Growing,
Micca

Very cool offer, had a pretty similar season last year when I grew them, except for that all the ones I grew had some intense heat. First time I tried a pod I was totally expecting a very mild pepper full of flavor instead I got a mouth full of fire haha cool that you found a good strain

Yeah it has been many years of growing different ones to find the right one.
Like you say most of them have been pretty hot
Unfortunately my mate grew them and i'm still trying to see if he can find the name of it.

If I don't get many takers i'll put you on the list

Cool, yeah but I want to make sure Aussies have priority before me, you looking for any other pepper seeds maybe I can help you out with, I have never sent seeds overseas i would like to give it a whirl and see how it goes

These are just what I most am wanting to buy for next year.  I like hot peppers but often have a difficult time getting past the burn to be able to enjoy the taste.  I have seen a number of vendors  selling Tobago Seasoning  peppers and was planning to get some of those.  It's rather disappointing to hear it may not be so simple.

If you find out the original source for yours please post it.

Hi Dave,

Yeah it would be nice if it was simple but after growing quite a few varietes it has been a real struggle.
There are lot's out there that have little heat but do not have the great Chinense aroma and taste.
My aim of chasing the Seasoning Peppers is to do a curry say Vindaloo where you can put heaps of mild ones with a few of the superhots and get a real flavoursum but also sweating curry.

I will endeavour to find a name to go with it. I was growing about 4 different varieties at the time.

If you didn't live half way around the earth I'd be begging to be invited to dinner!

I have far too many seeds already but I'll take some!   My list for next season is really long, but I'll have more space to grow in, so need to whittle it down somehow.  Can't say no to free seeds though ;)

Did you get your order from overseas yet?

Hey trippa it was a bit hard to tell because iv'e been eating alot of superhots but probably just a bit more than a jalapeno.
The bottom of the Chilli had very little or no heat but got a bit of a long tongue sting with the placenter part.
Love the aroma and taste with these as i do with most Chinenses.

Hey Mega send me your addy and i'll post some out.
The seeds from Peter have been sent just playing the waiting game now......

Hi Chilliheads,

Well I still have a few seeds spare of this seasoning pepper so I have decided to open it up for the overseas bretheren!
Anyone outside of Australia drop me a PM with your address and will send some out to you.
I have probably got enough for around 10 people so first in first served!
I would have edited the title to take out "Aussies only" but can't seem to find out how to do it. If anyone knows please let me know.

Happy Chilli Growing,
Micca
