temperature questions

Ok so currently im keeping my plants inside under 1400w of lighting in about a 3-4sq ft spot in my garage.
I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer I set the outdoor sensor at the same height as the average plant top I have.
The garage is about 80° but the sensor by the plants under the mh & hps is giving me a reading of up to 107.1 being the highest ive seen so far.
Is that too hot?
I can place my hand and keep indefinitely at the top of the plant, its very warm but not uncomfortable to me just curious if the plants will handle it?
Today being the 1st day im attempting to limit the fan usage to only 3hrs towards the evening and let them go without the fan during the rest of the day. With the fan on it drops the temp reading down to 90 or so.
So if its a good idea to leave the fan on for cooling I will do so. But didnt know if it being on and blowing on the plants anytime the plants are inside is good or bad...
Any advice is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

Keep the fan on. Air movement is awesome for plants and that temp is a bit too high without it.
Wow that was a fast response!
I will turn it back on for sure.

And your saying with the fan on its no problem?
I guess me having a 1000w hps & 400w mh on them will require me to keep the fan on anytime theyre inside?
im still faily new to growing peppers and soakin uo any info I can
Thanks again for the quick response and the info

I always keep an oscillating fan on high and pound them with the wind when i have plants under lights.   You gotta keep them babies moving.   Makes the stems super strong and the air moving around helps with other issues as well.   But damn man,  you have the best light that there ever is outside right now,  and its free!   IMO that is wayyyyyy to warm for them plants.    107,  yikes!

80-90 is probably the perfect temp, you can go lower to 75 is ok too, but id say try to keep them below 95 at least, to hot will kill flower production quickly

edit: i keep mine in the house at around 70 at night and 80 during the day, no problems yet

My ghost thrive best at 72, , which in turn keeps my hydro reservoir cooler (68 is peak)

Keep the fan on and circulate the air like a convection oven to avoid hot spots, most temps are taken at the side of the room not directly under the light, just like weather temp is taken in the shade not on asphalt

I keep my room thermometer on a side wall at eye level, I'm 6' , I have vented hoods that help keep the room cooler too

Yea I guess my temp reading wasnt accurate sense the sensor was directly in the light about 18in from the hps bulb. The display has a seperate temp and at eye level its yet to exceed 82. And when the outdoor sensor is placed at soil level its low 80s also. I have plants starting to flower now without issue.
And I hear ya on the free light but im trying to keep a constant 18/6 going which still requires indoor lighting to make it happen. But of course on clear sunny days theyre in direct sun for a good 6-7hrs with some shade here n there. Then they come back in for some extra light. Our weather deff doesnt permit me being able to leave them outside 24/7 either so just trying to do what I can but I dont wana cause any problems either.
Thanks everyone for the input!
