Cool98010's Mid 2013 Glog - Update 26 August 2013

Hi Guys :D
I'm kind of a newbie (I guess? ) and i'm from Singapore (perfect conditions for growing peppers :D). This will be my second growing season as my first one isn't doing so well :(
This Time I got my seeds from Pepperlover.com and Judy gave me like 3 packets of seeds for freee :D
I will be growing Dorset Naga, 7 Pot Primo, 7 Pot Orange, 7 Pot Original Red, 7 Pot Brain Strain, Bhut Jolokia and Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Butch T.

Here are all the seeds :

For the time being I'll be storing them in a plastic container :

I will be using this potting soil with some fish emulsion i bought from Malaysia :

Damm Photobucket not responding :(

I put the soil mixture in solo cups and put them in a container with a cover as you can see here

The Seeds Have Already Been Planted, 2 In Each Solo Cup.
I am just leaving them on the ground in the shade as Singapore's weather is warm enough   :onfire:

Let The Waiting Game Begin :D

Sorry for the lack of focus  :tear:

Can't wait to see those babies break into the light man. And for some reason that bottle of emulsion labelled "fish" cracked me up. Maybe because my first thought was fish sauce which i love now, but hated a few years ago. My friend said he had good success with peppers in the Philippines before he moved to the states, so I imagine you will do quite well.
In fact, after looking at a map I'm sure you'll do even better. I suck a geography and thought they were at similar latitudes.

I Bought Some Worm Castings To Enhance My Soil

And A Question. Can I use fish emulsion, seaweed and worm castings as fertilizer all together?

If the weather is anything like Okinawa they'll do good..... just gotta keep an eye on watering.... the leaves will wilt during the day even if not in direct sun and will perk back up as it cools down.... pretty soon, if it isn't slready, in okinawa itll be upper 70s and low 80s around midnight, for comparison. ...

I worked worm castings into the ground and I alternate weeks with seaweed and fish and epsom salt....

No problem.  If it wasn't for all the typhoons and everything last year, my plants would have been a bit taller and I probably would have gotten quite a few more peppers off the butch t's....  It seemed just as the flowers were blooming, I'd have to move them into storage for a few days without any light, which resulted in most, if not all, dropping and new ones coming in just in time for the next typhoon....

My plants on my balcony got very little direct sun, maybe 2-3 hours towards the end of the day, just as the temps peaked and started to drop and grew much taller than those at work that got morning to early afternoon sun, but they had thicker stems as they didn't have any wind protection....

And for the most part, I was using potting mix, some seed starting mix and topsoil mixed together.  No idea what was in them or the quality, other than deducing they were potting mix for vegetables, seed starting and topsoil based on the pictures on the bags.  Topsoil was the only thing in English among the three bags....  Guess I got lucky....  Or smart enough to assume the bag with vegetables was for vegetables while the bag that had flowers was for flowers....  But it seemed like everyone in Okinawa either had a garden or a bunch of plants in containers, so everything in stores works....
