Ass Kickin Chili Fixins is total garbage

I bought a bag of Ass Kickin Chili Fixins at a small stand thinkin I would be in for a treat but as I quickly discovered I was wrong well not quickly it took 3 days to make .
first thing I should have noticed was the bag was mostly dry beans and any chili guru will tell ya beans have no place in a real chili .
but I thought I would try it anyway as I may like the finished product so off I went to get started and the first step was wash and soal the beans obvernight and then cook them for 3 hors to get them ready for the rest of the mix.
step 2 was 2 pounds of meat and a few cans of tomatoes with some olive oil and garlic and an onion.
pretty basic but again its all about the spices and this bag had a packet of spice so here goes.
after I added all the spice and cooked it as per the directions and left out the bag of powdered habs as I tasted them straight and they were as hao as to be expected and being that was only heat I opted to wait to taste the bulk of what was in the pot then add heat.
IT WAS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
no real taste to speak of and the so called spice was bland tasting bulk food type stuff .
the beans added insult to a bad pot of crap .
the packet of masa flour was there to thicken the chili and tell ya the truth it was the only thing printed on the bag that had me thinking it was worth buying .
a side note .... everthing this company sells is pretty bad like ther ass kicking sauces from hell as they all taste about the same and the only thing they sell that is ok is there pure habenaro sauce that is on the salty side but ok.
I give this chili kit a 1.2 out of 10 as the bag was a hit with my cousins kid and he hates everything but the bag he said looks cool.
save your cash and leave this bag on the shelf.

wasn't sure if i should continue reading after the bean statement. :P

the only "ass kickin" product i've had was one of their popcorns. supposedly it was the hottest one..or at least the hottest one available at the store i bought it at. it was spicier than normal popcorn..but far from ass kickin'! i posted about it here and apparently it could be their quality control that is an issue..as at least one person noted that sometimes they bags are hotter than others.

so it really doesn't surprise me that their chili mix wasn't very hot either. these days, when i make chili, i just make normal chili (with beans!) with various peppers. depending on who is eating it with me.. i'll either add extract sauce to the whole pot, or just to my own bowl.

hey I like beans also but I thought I was buying a kit that would maybe include spices that I can't get here and would end up with a pot of chili that was unique and different from what I already make.

Beans take up valuable beef room in my stomach. Only have bout 2 gallons space to spare.
Good chili is good chili beans or no. Just not overdone.

I know that the original "real" chili doesn't have any beans in it, but I love them anyway. I made one without beans just to give it a try and I know for sure now that I want beans in my chili!

The bean controversey continues:lol:
I hate beans except in chili, and then they have to be pinto beans or kidney beans and not too many

Pinto over kidney beans for me..so Pinto Pinto Pinto

Find Kidney beans a little harsh at times..just me..then of course if your Desperate Theres BAKEN BEANS which are not bad at all with a chili+Beans..Chili without beans tut tut :)

Does anyone make the mistake of straining the beans. Beans all the way, Come on AJ the beans are full of protien

i just like beans any old way. kidney, pinto, black, blackeye, fava, broad, mung, etc. Beans rule. I want them in my chili. Yeah, i'm a yank, but i just know what i like. i like beans.

As far as Ass Kickin? they suck. bigtime. i hate their sauce, i hate their popcorn. i'm not buying anything they make. It's just garbage.

Straining? You mean you buy beans in a can? Cheater. Haha, just kidding.

My mother makes chili with baked beans and to me it tastes like vomit, destroying all the goodness.

strain them out first..but as i said if im desperate..pintos are harder to find here ;)

I like beans and no beans. The beans to use are dark kidney beans. They stay firm and don't mush up, absorb flavor, and add contrast.

I like to use dried beans(soaked overnight) but if I use canned beans I certainly strain out the canning juices and try to get rid of the tinny taste and the preservatives
