Would Palm Leaves/Fronds make a good mulch for container growing in hot and dry weather?  I wouldn't bother trying to break down the spine part of the leaves due to not having a chipper but I bet a leave mulcher could break down the leaves If done right.  I have to trim a lot of the Palms in the Summer and thought that maybe I could do something useful with them.

Yes you could to that, though they might be stringy enough to get caught and clog up a leaf mulcher.
