I do a lot of Kickstarter monitoring for hardware projects, and I came across this grill ...

For me, it's interesting because I spent some time studying parabolic heating/cooling when I was in high school ...
 
You theoretically reach a temperature exceeding the surface of the sun at the mathematic focus of a parabola, provided the reflector is efficient enough ...
 
Either way, this looks pretty cool ...
 
While you're sitting in the blazing sun drinking Gatorade and getting skin cancer as your food warms up in a tube, I'll be in the shade drinking ice cold beers as my steak sizzles over an open flame. :rofl:
 
All joking aside, it's kinda neat...I guess...
 
I remember solar cooking hot dogs in 6th grade with a shoe box, tin foil, a bamboo skewer, and plastic wrap. It took a while, but it did cook them.
 
I'm not to impressed with the grill, but I am impressed they got that many pledges. It must appeal to a certain demographic.

LOL! Okay.... I take it back..... that's not the price, just the pledges to support the project.... whew. I was worried about the state of humanity for a second! Guess I shoulda read it closer!
 
Thats cool !! I'd buy one if the price is right. We do a lot of beach camping and this would be easy to do without smoking out the area with newspaper or lighter fluid. Good for tailgating as well - I like how you can cook on it then stow it away without waiting for a lengthy cool down
