So my wife ordered peppers on December 5th for my birthday and a company Hotluck. Peppers should have shipped according to Dales website Monday the 9th so days later and 2 follow up emails, 1 phone message and no contact from Dale at ALL. No answering email and no phone just plain bad customer service period!!  So I check his website today as this was not up yesterday and low and behold:

*********Attention!!! There was no shipping done on 12/9/13...we were out of town last minute....all orders will ship Mon Dec 16th********Check out our "Holiday SALES" section to see whats HOT for this years gift ideas!!

These peppers were supposed to be for a hotluck Christmas lunch at work for the 17th. There are 16 of us pepper heads here who will never and I mean never buy anything from BakersPeppers.  Just so you know this isn't made up here is the proof!! Of course he got the money..... now I am stuck with powder or frozen .....and if Dale needs anymore people who think he sucks as a business man. He just added 16 to the list!! He just totally screwed up my Company Christmas lunch paid on December 5th and maybe fresh peppers by Christmas??? Next time I am ordering from Pepper Lover or Sicman

Last year I had quite an ordeal with him too... unfortunately.  I talked with some people who I will not name.. and apparently... he spreads himself thin... resource and personel-wise.  Could be part of the problem.

I had ordered some dried peppers from him on september 13 2012... the order never arrived.  I contacted him through his website and he told me there must have been a mix-up at the post office and that he was happy to ship a replacement.

The replacement order arrived.. however, I was very disappointed with my order... the peppers were far from dry... they were, in fact, soggy-- and thereby unusable for making hot sauce as I had intended. Furthermore,I had purchased one ounce of dried morugas and one ounce of dried brainstrain peppers and what I received was ONE unlabeled bag of wet, shredded peppers of an unkown variety, which, for all I know, could have been wet and in anaerobic conditions for weeks-- and would be, therefore, contaminated with bacteria.

So I contacted him and received no reply until I messaged him a second time on THP.  He informed me that he was sorry and that he could refund my money or ship again.  I told him I would still like to receive the dried peppers: one ounce of morugas and one ounce of brainstrains. But that they must be cracker dry.... otherwise I cannot trust them for consumption.  He told me they would ship in the next few days...

A week later I had not recieved the peppers.  I contacted him again.  5 days went by without a reply... on the 6th day he informs that they "S.H.I.P.P.E.D."... as though he was getting frustrated with me....

I had to reitterate that they had not arrived. Basically i was fed up at this point and told him to "forget about the order and good luck with your business."  At which point he apologizes and tells me that he really cares about the customer.

5 days later, Nov 8 2012 I recieved what was the 3rd replacement order.  It was exactly what i had ordered: a bag of morugas and a bag of brainstrains... However, it was a quarter ounce short on weight...  I recieved my order a full 56 days after I had placed the order.

Yeah, I got burned pretty badly as well with an order last year. Ended up costing me an extra $100 just because two numbers inadvertently got transposed on the shipping address, despite sending him the correct address here on the site prior to him sending it, and I was expected to come up with the solution to the problem, not to mention his attitude was just darn unpleasant, as well as a complaint by him that the original order of fresh pods was sent back to him as undeliverable and was little more than soup in the box.

Yep lesson well learned only out $20 but Dale is now out 16+ potential customers. You figure at 52 I would listen more to my wife or at least THP people he did wrong. Any who, ordered December 5th and no peppers now if he sends them wont arrive till December 20th and way late for my Christmas lunch on the 17th. Don't get me wrong I have plenty of frozen, powder, sauce but the whole reason I ordered a mix box was so that 16 of us could cook with some fresh. The pisser is my wife emailed him 2 times and left a message (No Response Back ) and he did not put anything up about shipping until TODAY when I started wondering about the mail. I have owned 2 businesses and would never treat customers they way he does.

I asked him about buying 2-4 pounds of Bubblegum pods before they were ready.  Only response was that they would be on sale when they were ready in small flat rate boxes only.  You would think that you would want to make a sale.  Lesson learned, don't buy pods from bakers peppers only from  Pepperlover.  The pods were going to be for a hot sauce i wanted to make and package.  I guess my $ is no good for him.

He posted that to facebook yesterday.  Pepper Joe lent him one of his places in Tenn. to vacation at.  True story.  That may have been posted to save his ass after reading your emails.

Check out the gem at the end from Joe.  Dude is looney

and lol at tomatoes not being a cross.  Sure they are.  Future pepper joe customers should run after that statement alone.

I'll be the first to say, I've never had a single problem purchasing stuff from Pepper Joe, ever in all the interactions I've had with him, and the fact he has an exclusive grow contract with Dale is beside the point for me, but honestly that last sentence did give me pause and a part of me felt like Pepper Joe was made to write that. Whether that's true or not, who knows, but like I said, I won't let my interactions with Dale color my ineractions with Pepper Joe...

I apologize I should have stated that wasn't my intention.  That was meant to let the OP know why his order wasn't shipped.

I have not had an issue with Dale, but I despise PepperJoe.  I don't think pepper Joe was made to write that at all.  It seems that's just the kind of character he is.  Couple others who sell reaper seeds weighed in on it as well.  One mentioned, is he going to sue Dale now too?

But Dale is operating on a higher level than everyone else right? That's what Dale says. But he can't afford employees. In mountains chillin' and no one to run his empire.

Why risk employees?
