Anybody have a favorite, or one to stay away from? Tonight I'm making butternut squash soup. Didn't mix well. Thinking I need one of those Immersion blenders. There's breville, cuisinart. ,delonghi, dualit , Hamilton, kitchen aide. Looking for best value
 
We have a cheapo Hamilton beach and I wanna say it was like $12. It works surprisingly well. We bought it in a pinch and haven't had to replace yet (5 years). We have several items by Breville and they are my #1 favorite kitchen appliance manufacturer. I would not hesitate buying ANYTHING from them. Top quality.
 
Keep us posted on how it works out for ya. I was planning on buying one in a couple months, when I was researching on amazon the most popular one seemed to get decent reviews, but there were quite a few reviews about the gear stripping.
 
I had a Hamilton Beach one with the clear plastic so you could see the metal shaft through it.  The first batch of tomato soup I made some bled up into the shaft and I could never get it out.  I still used it for two years but during a batch of hot sauce this year the plastic guard got too hot and melted a little.  I purchased the highly rated cuisinart 75B with the stainless guard and shaft and I am so glad I did.  Such a better blender than the Hamilton Beach one was.
 
I had a pos Rival we found at a garage sale for $2.  I got my money's worth out of that one :lol:  but eventually the blade shaft got really stiff and it wouldn't spin well.  My Christmas present was a Cuisinart multi-tool.  Grinder chamber, wire whip and the blade boat motor.  Only used it once, but it did great for scrambled eggs.  ;)  :lol:

+1 cuisinart 75b - stainless, great rpm, no fuss or muss.  Mine is going on 4 years old (?) and still powers through everything I put it in.
 
First thing I would do with one is make sand out of bricks. :rofl: I need lots and lots of sand for my driveway. And that MIGHT break it in.
