breeding Cross Pollination ideas for Numex Big Jim

Hello all,

I wish to try a cross-pollination experiment this summer with my Numex Big Jim as it seems to be an awesome pepper and a big one.

Any of you guys have idea of good mix I could try.
My grow list is mainly chinense superhots, but I also have lemondrop, fresno, cherry bomb and thai.

I am aware I should go with annuum varieties as they would be more stable based on this:

From your propositions, I could buy plants to cross pollinate.

Thanks,
Teurf

After I saw that someone successfully crossed a Aji Amarillo and a Scorpion, I thought I could try a lemongundy (Lemondrop X Burgundy) for color and shape.

BarrackaJim or other Chinense.

A LemonJim could be awesome.

I don't think you can improve on Big Jim - just my opinion.

I guess you are right but I haven't tasted them yet.

Maybe I will be of the same opinion next fall :P.

Maybe it's more about creating something new all on it's own rather than improving one pepper or the other.

chocolate bhutlah

it would prolly make slightly different size and shape.
and slightly hotter too.

I was thinking of crossing it with the peter pepper to get a "Big Peter", but my wife said no..........go figure. I still think it would be funny, although maybe slightly inappropriate.

Big Peter .... now you're onto something.

How about crossing the Big Jim with a Monkey Face pepper. You could spin the name a few different ways  ;)
